If he had any options at all he would have signed a contract long ago. Even the lowly Sabres and (insert every other NHL and AHL team here) were not interested. He will either retire or go play in Europe.

I think Joker will be traded in a package for a top 6 forward. So ... Dahlin - Byram Power - Samusie / Johnson Clifton - Johnson / Samusie Bryson (who will play about 40 - 45 games with Clifton and Johnson sitting 40(ish) between them) I do not ever want to see 7D dressed unless due to warmup injury or sickness or some such.

I think he would bring a veteran presence and he could have a good influence. KA could have signed him last summer and didn't. No team did. I think Phil will likely retire at this point.

He is not eligible for the playoff now, but can sign and play out the regular season with any team. Not sure why it would be a good idea, but also not sure why it would be a bad idea. I think the Sabres should and likely will call up players from Rochester at some point to give them a taste so long as it does not hinder a playoff push in Rochester.

Yeah, I see that, but it should not be. It will be interesting to see what happens in the summer. Baring no changes I can see Byram with Dahlin. Power with Muel and Cliffsie with Joker may not be terrible. Or maybe Clifton with Power. What's his name is looking like a good #7 too.

Your OP was not exactly wrong either. The new kid is really trying to impress his new playmates. He has had 2 very good games and it has taken him no time to clue into the 'system' here, which only shows to go us all that there really is no 'system' here atoll - just go play, boys.

Wholly crap, yous guys. KA likes Girgs in his own right. Terry likes him, I like him, everybody likes him. I scream, you scream we all scream for ice cream (and Girgs). He is what he was when we drafted him. He has been a very good soldier and leader of this team through the bleakest period in team history, which has nothing to do with him. He did nothing to make it so and he has given his all to this team.

I think it is a good trade for both teams, but I think it's a bit early to put this kid as a top pairing Dman. The future looks good for his development, but he isn't top pairing yet as far as I can tell, even on the Sabres. Same is true for Casey - he is developing nicely, but he is not a 2C yet, even on the Sabres. Therefore, a reasonable *hockey trade* for both teams.

You know what he means and deep down you agree with KA on that.

I should have watched it before reading this thread. I just watched it and it's nowhere near as bad as reading this thread would indicate. Of course, many would look at it the other way and that is fine. That drafting Krebs thing is head scratching for sure, but whatever. I like that he got emotional in talking about KO. He may not have the heartlessness to ultimately do well as an NHL GM and I would actually be fine with that so long as they bring in a stone cold hard ass to be GM and KA can be a ceremonial head of something or other at some point when the Sabres are on another cusp (hey there @PASabreFan). Dahlin will be captain next season if not sooner. I think things will be fine.
