  1. The Shootout airs on MSG only, regardless of what feed or channel the CI game is on. If the game feed is blacked out on MSG, you can still go there after the game and it will be shown in its entirety. Just don't try to tivo it off the basic schedule. It cuts off about halfway through, so you have to manually extend the recording time. I usually listen to the post game on GR while recording the Shootout, then watch it after the GR post game is over. By that time I've had my hockey fix for the night.....
  2. If the clutching and grabbing/hooks are called, we take it in 5. Take the first two at home, lose game 3, win 4 & 5. Miller gets his first playoff shutout. We'll probably go with two D on the PP, which will cut down the shorthanded chances.
  3. If nothing else, it'll just be fun to watch Marty get his shutout right after Ryan's. Kudos to both goalies and team. Took 81 games, but they deserved it. I'm sure the team was happy to get it for them.
  4. Didn't get to see the game. had to listen on the net. Tivo'd it though so I'll get to watch it Friday when I get back home. Was an exciting night all around. Well, ok... Rangers tanked the division....
  5. I don't think any league "has it out" for Buffalo. Mistakes are made all over. It just seems that the ones that fall against us have a larger impact than most. The no goal of course. Philly side net goal that counted. For the Bills you have home run throwback and the NE win that kept them out of the playoffs when NE was given a first down when the guy ran OB about 2 feet short, an incomplete pass that was ruled a catch, and an end zone penalty that wasn't on a hail mary... all on their final drive. I know there are others, but these are the biggest ones that stick out... And after Boynton raising hell, it really hurt us league wide with the refs for a while. I think it's gotten better the last couple games, but still not where it should be. Even last night, at the end of the 2nd period, Lindy had a good chat with ref, and there was a noticeable difference in the third.
  6. I just wish Toronto still had a chance. At least they would concentrate on the game then. Now they can pretty much do whatever they want. Sabres just need to try to play the game. The league is going to be watching this one close, and will probably be lusting to nail us with suspensions and/or fines.
  7. There was always that hope, but no... I didn't think it would happen. Just the fact that we made the playoffs was awesome to me.
  8. Not yet. It's in a holding pattern over Dallas.
  9. What a different team from last night. Overall good game. Lots of hustle, some decnet hitting. Still some mistakes, but strong overall. Even Ryan actually played a very good game, like the Ryan that played before the break. I would have started marty tonite after Ryan's poor game last night. But then, that's why Lindy is the coach and not me......
  10. I can't say that I'm sorry or mad that they lost. However, this game just had no emotion from several players. I'm sure I could have fallen asleep if I was so inclined. Which, after being up all day and having to work all night tonite, a nap would have been the smarter move. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  11. I'm not so sure about that. Yeah, they have been the cardiac kids this year, and no, they have not buried teams early. But they've played VERY few 60 minutes games too. I don't expect them to lay up and take shifts off like they have. And if they do that, Philly will be toast in 6, maybe even 5.
  12. I've loved Max's attitude all year. Yeah, he still can't finish, but like Connolly, he came to play with a new attitude. Even the penalties he took earlier in the season showed a heart he hadn't displayed. He seemed to lose that attitude during the losing streak, but he played well in Toronto, and incredible tonite. He's fast becoming a premier setup man. Just an overall solid effort. I think that Toronto shallacking may have been the true wakeup call.
  13. With two down, I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the overall play. A few bounces and a delayed whistle that didn't go our way. But the passes are looking pretty good and the effort is there. If they can keep this up in the third, should be a good outcome. PA, I've never been one to scream conspiracy, but there are times.... I mean, yeah, mistakes are made everywhere, but some are much more glaring than others, and some make a bigger difference in games than others. Then of course there are the ones that work one way one day, then the opposite way the next, and within the last couple games we've had complete opposite calls.
  14. Yes, that is exactly what the ruling was. He lost sight of the puck, and was "going to" blow the whistle when the puck went in. This time the ref loses sight, but WASN'T going to blow the whistle, even though he's "supposed to" upon losing sight. Briere on the point for the PP, and Fitz nails a wrist shot from the point. Beauty. That's what I say.... F*** the refs, beat em anyway.
