We need to trade a couple of our D men for a 2C if possible. We can’t trade picks that we will be needing when we have 4/5 players making 7-10 million a year each. I know saying that it’s all about now. I just think we are, as crazy as it sounds, a couple of hockey trades away from really turning the corner. We have enough Defensemen getting ready to make the jump over the next 3 years or so. We need to really manage the cap with all the high end contracts we have.

Sam regressing more? He is right where he needs to be if he makes the same jump next year he will be reaching his potential shortly. He isn't in the Eichel level so you can't expect the same. He should be a 60-70 point guy who plays good defense and fits anywhere you put him. Sabres are in good shape as far as Sam and Jack go. Kane on the wing of a line with Getzlaf And Perry would be scary. The are a perfect fit in my opinion and that would enticing I think to Anaheim. Even if the get rid of Fowler they have 1 too many Defenseman to protect. Bieska has a NMC and needs to be protected then the signed Vatanen and they have Fowler Lindholm and Theodore to protect along with an internal team budget. Lindholm would probably blow that budget and they would still have to leave someone unprotected. I would say Kane, one of Fashing/Carrier/Bailey and a second round pick would get it done. Shattenkirk I have no idea what it would take for us to get? If we get Lindholm and sign him to a long term deal along the same as Risto of (5.5-6.5 AAV) then we would have to move Bogo for cap and expansion purposes. Protect Risto, Lindholm and McCabe. Plus even if we don't sign Vesey we have a logjam of guys ready to step up at Forward and that isn't counting Nylander so we have ammo to get what we need.

Thanks TrueBlue I always put the eye test ahead of everything, I only mentioned analytics because alot of Gms are into them to different degrees. I have watched enough Ducks games and have seen Fowler play to know he would serve a purpose on our team, but he isn't anything special to me. I just don't think we would be getting fair value for Kane. Especially with his off ice problems we are getting maybe .50 on the dollar. Now if we are talking Shattenkirk or Lindholm then I am all for it even if we have to add a little extra to make it happen. Kane for Fowler? There are a few players in the league with the skill set of Kane, and 1-3 on every team with the skill set of Fowler. 5 on 5 is where Kane is most effective, with Fowler its on the PP. Kane is one of the fastest skaters in the league, likes to hit and drives possession. Fowler has awful analytics and wouldn't have anywhere near the point totals if he wasn't playing with 2.5 SuperStars on the PP. He makes his teammates worse ta boot. His only positive is he is Pysyk with a $4 million dollar cap hit. Now Lindholm and you are talking.

Kulikov is a UFA after this season. No need to protect him. Bogo, Risto, McCabe are our 3 protected D-men. I think if we sign Vesey we really have to re-evaluate our lineup. All of this Fowler talk I think is ridiculous he is over-rated and has horrible analytics, his only plus is his cap hit and that isnt the kind of player I would be interested in. I would look to try and pry Lindholm free with any combo of Ennis, Bogo, Girgensons, Foligno, Moulson, a second level prospect, our extra second rounder in 2017. If the deal didn't involve Bogo that would require a second move to stop us from losing him for nothing in an expansion draft. It all depends on Vesey. We have too many guys ready to crack the lineup. Also Gorges has two more years left on his deal. Only Franson and Gionta are UFA after the season. So to sum it up use our plethora of forwards to reel in Lindholm and Use Bogo to add a prospect and picks that would help replace the Kulikov rental.

Offer sheet Lindholm. Offer Loui Eriksson 3 years at an above market value yearly basis to keep the term down. We have money so overpaying a guy to ensure less term for when we need it is an advantage of Pegula money. Lastly get Eichel, ROR, Samson, and Management on a plane and get Vesey to put pen to paper.

Perfect Day for the Sabres, the best player in the division is shipped off to the Western Confernce. We don't have to hope we sign Stamkos just so he doesn't goto Toronto. Thus ensuring we have resources to spend on our own core and filling some holes in the lineup.

This Deal is so lopsided its insane. Anyone who says it was even remotely a fair trade knows nothing about hockey. Weber has been declining for a few years, while Subban has been improving. Webers deal carries a 7.8 million dollar hit until he is 41 years old. Subban's is $9 million until 33. Subban was the best skater on the Montreal roster. Weber is a lumbering Defenseman who will be worse in 5 years and in 10, wow. Bloodline and Grace and Frankie are two Netflix Originals that are binge worthy. Also The Americans is a great show that doesn't get the press of shows like Game of Thrones and Homeland. Homeland was good the first two seasons but the third season ws garbage before the fourth season made a mild comeback.

Bloodline is a must watch, and the British version of Skins is great for anyone looking for something with Sex, Drugs, and Great TV.
