  1. 05/06 Sabres complete the comeback. Somebody step up and give me faith in this group
  2. did not catch any preseason action but I would prefer Falk in the lineup over Franson based on his play tonight
  3. Hate to say it but Ennis out of the lineup is addition by subtraction at this point
  4. If/when Lehner gets injured (I'm not sold on his long term viability from a health standpoint) keep an eye out for Ullmark. If robin goes down its likely Linus comes up and beats out Nilsson for the replacement job. He's a capable NHL backup today but giving him a chance to start every night in ROC could allow him to develop into more.
  5. Vanek to the Red wings at the draft. I'm calling it now. He would be everything holmstrom was on datsyuk's wing but faster and smarter with better hands and shot. He would eclipse 100 points playing on the wings
  6. An asset is an asset. I would take second rounders in '18 and '19 for Regehr's washed up ace. He has no value to us. Best (or worst if you want mckinnon) case scenario is the Sabres sneak into an 8 seed only to be swept be the Pens. Take what you can get. It's not like prospects develop on a set time frame. 1 year difference in the development of a second round pick is not much at all. Anyway, I want the Sabes to win a cup more than anything other than them winning two or three. You need a steady flow of young and cheap players to do so. Only lunatic sports fans criticize thinking in the long term. Maybe I'm just biased as a 19 year old but, I would be cool with them waiting to win until i'm 21 and can legally riot in the streets of buffalo with the rest of you
  7. Sabes win 4-2, 2 special teams goals and Grigorenko gets a point.
  8. He can learn how to carry a team to a championship while getting double the ice time. He needs to get stronger before he can be a truly dynamic player at the NHL level. It took Stamkos and Seguin a year of full on NHL strength and conditioning programs to really find their stride. In Junior strength isn't all that important for most top tier skill players because they are simply better than everyone else. The NHL is a different story. Strength is paramount not only for defensive positioning and protecting the puck but for explosiveness as well. IF the sabres choose to send Grigs back, Uncle Terry would be wise to shell out for a Professional caliber strength and conditioning trainer to join him in QC
  9. Adam and Vanek did show chemistry at the start of last season. Plus Adam has to know he is skating on thin ice and this season might be his last chance to stick in the NHL. Im not expecting this but given a reasonable opportunity I wouldn't be surprised if he put up 40 points.
  10. Baptism by fire! It might be a rough year but it could help them develop. Make each center compete with the others for time on the powerplay and pk. Let the cream rise to the top.
  11. Vanek Hodgeson Pommer Foligno Ennis Stafford Ott Gerbe Leino Kaleta Mcormick ellis/scott/tropp I actually like this 3rd line. Ott takes faceoffs, Gerbe plays in the middle of the ice, Leino and Ott are almost centers and can help Gerbe defensively. Ruff can move kaleta up if he really wants to piss off the other team. Only issue is no Grigorenko but I am a bit of a pessimist so this roster assumes he doesn't make the team as after his (9 game?) tryout.
  12. You mean a Lucic signing? Scott is a monster.
  13. I don't see too many big moves. I'm betting they sign a veteran Russian (or ex soviet country) player to mentor Grigorenko. A guy like Fedetenko would not surprise me at all.
  14. Cought that show last year. It was nice but I wish I could've seen jerry alive.
