  1. After watching The Last Jedi for the 3rd time, I will say this... watching it with a "first time" audience is special. So many moments that are great to share with people seeing it for the first time, it really enhances the experience. I enjoyed hearing the reactions and whispered comments. I love that so many people love SW like I do. I encourage all of you that normally don't like crowds and/or don't go to the theater that often to go soon and see it with others for the first time. See it twice... at least!
  2. I've seen it twice already... glad I did, some little things I kind of missed the first time. No spoilers... I didn't get 100% what I wanted out of it, but that was impossible... for anyone. SW and the characters mean so much and also different things to the fans, no one will ever be 100% happy. there were a TON of surprises for me. I tried to stay "in the dark" and not know much other than the couple trailers i saw. I'm glad I did, i was really surprised at times and loved several moments. I could have done without the blatant political agenda that was being thrown in our face but even with that, I enjoyed the hell out of it! For older fans like me that grew up loving SW and having Luke be a HUGE influence on them, it had some "HECK YEAH! moments and also some "it's dusty in here" moments as well. I think i'm going a third time this weekend... I'm easy to please and can over look some things to experience that feeling that I never thought I'd have again after 1983... this made it twice in as many years, can't wait for episode 9 and time #3!
  3. The Buffalo News publishing a story in tomorrow's paper... Harrington was in town and interviewed the family... http://buffalonews.com/2017/06/03/with-preds-in-cup-final-eichel-tower-kid/
  4. Also for those of you who aren't on Twitter but are on Facebook, there now is an "official" Eichel Tower FB page, so check that out. Over 70 pictures from the 2 days of Sabres adventures are also posted there.
  5. Too many stories, pictures and videos to post or explain... just an amazing two days! Jack told CJ that he would look for him along the glass in pregame warm ups tonight... that's how awesome Jack is. He didn't have to say that, we didn't even mention that we'd be there for that (but we will be). So cool. Just an amazing few days! Attached is a photo of us wearing the tshirts I had made for the Road Crew event where we had several people ask us about buying them, we gave one to Jack so who knows what could happen in the future.
  6. So while we aren't sure what we are doing "officially" I had this tshirt made just to see how it looked... I like it, anyone else?
  7. Glad you noticed it too!!! That was clearly a shout out! pretty cool... BTP is my brother and he said they gained like 50 new followers today, HAHA! He also said there is a thread about it on Reddit and some guy from Czech Republic tweeted about it, LOL! it's nuts how it's getting around, but super cool!
  8. someone asked for my opinon about the 'normal' showing and the 3D Imax... I'm glad I saw it normal first... but I'm 42 so 3D doesn't excite me for first time viewing. I don't want to be distracted on 'how great it looks', I just want the movie... THEN i'll go geek out at the IMAX and 3D. Since EVERYONE needs to see this movie twice to experience the emotions and fully enjoy (stop thinking so much) it, I'm going to suggest that you see it 'normal' screen first, then 3D. The 3D IMAX was amazing, for sure. Some shots I was freaking speechless with how cool it was, BUT for fast moving action, 3D doesn't translate well AND the whole movie isn't as bright as it should be because of the glasses needed to see the effects. can't wait to see it again!!!
  9. saw it yesterday at 7:00pm (normal screen) and going again today IMAX 3D. It was a lot of fun! I could nit pick it apart but overall it was really fun. It felt way more "Star Wars" than the prequels which was good. Nothing will ever compare to the feeling we all had as little kids watching the original trilogy and opening our toys or SW themed gifts, but this is pretty awesome. I'm really looking forward to watching this again today without 'being in my head' the whole time analyzing everything. Go check it out and just take it for what it is... FUN!!!!!
  10. yes TB did say that... but he also did kind of own it and say he didn't really think it all the way thru. I didn't take it like "this market doesn't want 3rd jersey's", I took it as like he said... basically this is the 3rd or 4th alternate jersey in the last few years (although the one did become the main current home jersey) and it's probably not a great idea to keep flooding the fans with different options every year. He also said 2020, the 50th anniversary year would be a good time for another one and if they did make a 'new' one, it wouldn't be until that time.
  11. my cousin worked for the Sabres and it is widely known that he has the attitude of "I'm awesome and don't have to listen to you" and this seems to be applied to every aspect. When people in the offices see it and hear about it weekly, it might be a problem that needs to be addressed. This isn't a 20 year old Jagr that is lighting the league on fire (I still wouldn't like it but just sayin'), this is a 19 year old D-man with amazing potential. That being said, Jagr got caught underage drinking like 4 times and was partying all the time while playing for the Pens... so hopefully he just outgrows this attitude once the team gets good.
  12. -11 F Greensburg, PA (outside of Pittsburgh)
  13. I fully expect Toronto to win the lottery... it's fixed. Do you really think the lottery for Crosby was legit? I don't. That's why we HAVE to finish last to get Eichel at #2. but I did the simulator 100 times and Sabres got 21 first picks, followed by Carolina at 19...
  14. i'm interested... you taking best offer plus shipping or what? just wondering, let me know
  15. i found it strange that his family wasn't with him... also, why have Gare and Robert bring out the banner and pose with him????? He must have shut some things down... I can't imagine the organization dictating some of those things. I'll ask my insider, see if he knows anything...
  16. glad to see Ellis back... him, Dalpe and any other AHLers playing against NHL teams is good for us! now, lose 10-15 straight, trade away expiring contracts... then we can cheer for the kids and this team to get going because it'll be too late and we'll get top 2 pick! that would be my best case anyway...
  17. i went on Dec 31 for lunch... it was crazy busy but the staff is super nice. My cousin works for the Sabres so he emailed Dominic and got reservations but without that we only would have had to wait about 30 min they said. The astheics of the place are awesome, and I'd love to just hang out and watch the big screen all day, but the food is trying to be too fancy if you ask me. i don't like weird stuff, just regular (some would say boring) food is what I like so when everything has Aieoli (??) spread on it or some strange crumble cheese or stuff like that, I'd rather not be bothered. But I got the chicken finger sub without all that nonsense and it was good. Don't sit near the upstairs door, you'll be freezing cold (only like three tables along the edge but still wanted to mention it). The staff was super nice and attentive. The deserts are really good too.
  18. I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to get my hand slapped for creating a new one... Anyway, I got word that the Hasek banner is already made and its black and red... but Terry might have it remade since he isn't sure he likes it. I really hope they make it blue and gold.
  19. is anyone elses NHL Network feed VERY jumpy, pixelated and spotty? I'm watching on DirecTV and it's blue sunny skies and no wind here and every other channel is perfect... but NHLN is HORRIBLE and makes the game unwatchable...
  20. my 22 year old step-daughter thought it was a good idea to pack up everything she had and "move" to Jacksonville, FL on Saturday night 11:15. She did this with only about $500, no credit card, no job, no place to sleep, no family/friends in the area, an no plan about anything. She's been sleeping in her car and is pretty much out of money right now. she's near the beach area outside of Jax. She is sleeping in her car, but the battery is dying every day because I'm sure she used it without starting her car to charge her phone among other things. She has a prepaid phone so that will shut off in a few weeks, her car payment is due and so is her car insurance so I have no clue what will happen when those don't get paid for a while. She has all that stuff in her name and we aren't responsible for any of it but that's the least of our worries. My wife already has depression issues (is bipolar too) and this is just sending her down a deep worrying, anxiety driven nightmare that she didn't need and is having a hard time keeping it together. Our daughter has a lot of issues, all stemming from her real dad... (let's just say he went to prison for doing really bad things to her that dad's shouldn't do) and she stopped getting help for all these issues when she turned 18 because we couldn't make her anymore and only would get help or take meds on and off here and there for the past 4 years. But this is super scary with her now choosing to be homeless in Jax because she thinks it'll be easy to find a job there. so anyway... that's my complaint for the day. Send a prayer my family's way if you don't mind.
  21. Enjoy it, only one more day like it in our lifetime
  22. i know this is the last summer we could get the 'break' on the buyout but I wouldn't have minded keeping him and paying him a boatload to do nothing again... and then waive him next summer. In the long run I guess that would cost us more money but at least we'd be a few million more closer to the cap floor and definitely not get any better to get a better chance at McDavid. haha
  23. I've been dealing with sewage/plumbing problem all week... right now to fix everything the grand total is up to $16,650. And we do NOT have that money sitting around, needless to say we are miserable. We've owned the house for 8 years, but it's an old house (80-100 years old). We had a sinking area in our backyard near the foundation. So my friend and I dug a big hole to see what was going on... we saw lots of gaps in the foundation so we knew things weren't good. Suddenly, gallons of water came rushing thru the foundation at us. I jumped out of the whole and yelled in to see what my wife was doing... she was doing laundry. And the water was apparently just pouring thru the foundation. Holy crap! Long story short, we get a plumbing company to come out. Lots of separations and cracks in the old sewer line (about 80-100 yrs old). But before we knew that, we found it was actually blocked by about 20 feet of solid waste, but water was getting out because of the 'holes' so the water was getting out and the waste was building up but we didn't know it. The foundation of the back of the house was eroded and water would just pour out of the foundation thru the gaps and erode the back yard. Basically like a little under the house river was forming every time we did laundry, showered, flushed the toilet, etc. Oh yeah and we found that the kitchen sink WASN'T HOOKED INTO ANY SEWER LINE AT ALL! just a pipe that emptied to under the house, so that added to and caused it's own river or erosion. AND, once we found the 'house trap' (outside), soil had moved so much that it basically got turned sideways and all sorts of separations in that pipe too. This is all stuff that I saw with my own eyes, on the camera and then dug up under the house. I was side by side them 99% of the time. So much more to describe but I think you get the idea... just a nightmare. And I don't know if our homeowners insurance will pay for any of it, I hope they do... we'll see. UGH!
