  1. Sabres app is no more.  Replaced by onebuffalo app that is designed for iPhone but not iPad (forced portrait vs. landscape).

I enjoyed reading and viewing Sabres app better on iPad.

None of this minor nuisance compares to any of your complaints I’ve read above.

  2. When Hyman returns in November, they will be $2.25 over the cap.  They now have to do something before that...bottom line is that I hope they choke in the playoffs again this year.  Boston always seems to take care of business, but Tampa better be there as a back-up this time if needed.  Another first round exit might be the end for Babcock.  I can only hope.  I wish it was the Sabres that would be their kryptonite but reality is that I hope we get in as a wild card at best.

  3. Mini-packs went on sale today.

Lots of good seats were available on the seat map in the 100 level shoot twice sections even though existing mp holders didn’t get an exclusive window this year.

Got my six pack on mostly Saturdays including the home opener this year.

Cant wait to see how the team will gel early in the year, seeing 4 of my games in the first 7 weeks!

Also nice to see the Bills dominance tonight.

  4. Last year: 16

    2017-18: 19

    2016-17: 15

    2015-16: 19

    2014-15: 19

    2013-14: 13

So, lowest number of back-to-backs since Cody Hodgson led the team in scoring with 44 points, Nolan was fired in favour of Roulston, and Regier was fired in favor of Murray.

Hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come!

  5. I was wondering if everyone else was as frustrated as I was after that game...no doubt about it.  Apart from the 10 game mirage, this  team looks so much slower and less determined than it was in November.  It’s like they’ve lost their confidence, and can’t get it back.  Watching the playoffs slowly slip away is more difficult to deal with as a Buffalo fan, but this is such a close league, and we were probably overachieving when we were streaking. Now, the tough times are showing that this team isn’t quite ready for prime time yet.  We are where we would have liked to be in the beginning, but dialing back the expectations and possibly wasting this opportunity after tasting the feeling of being at the top is a very difficult ask for Buffalo fans.

I was at the same game, but the ratio, if I recall correctly, was heavily in favor of Buffalo (the Leaf fans were more subdued that game too because most Sabre fans were frothing at the mouth from Stanley Cup fever....they didn't dare be their obnoxious selves).  Not even close to a regular season invasion at least.  I think that offers an important roadmap if we ever see the Leafs in the playoffs going forward in that it won't be 50/50, but more 75/25.

I was there as well and remember how distinct the Sabres support was compared to Leafs fans, and compared to regular season games.  Felt like 80/20 to me.

To play Devils Advocate STHs have spend a lot of money to watch crappy hockey over the past few years to the point where they could not give tickets away. If they want to recuperate some of their losses by selling for top dollar to The Southern Ontario Market that’s unfortunately their prerogative. I disagree with the practice, but then again I only buy 10 Games a year from a STH.

For sure.  To add to this, how many others dropped their season tickets at the end of last year?  Looks like a lot based on the early season mid-week games averaging just over 15,000.  That’s 4K worth of tickets up for grabs.  I was at the Calgary game and there were tons of empty seats everywhere

  8. Just watched the replay of the end of the game.  It was so awesome to see Sam jumping up and down with excitement on the bench as the winning goal was scored.  I have never seen him that ecstatic before, even when he’s on the ice for a goal.  Was great to see, he usually has ice in his veins.  I was doing the same after jumping out of my seat!

Would have been good to know that this game was on Sportsnet here in Ontario, every other time its listed as being on its blacked out. Just caught the game at the start of OT

All of the next 5 games after the Tampa game are on one of the Sportsnet channels (except the Leafs game which is on TSN4).  Talk about good timing for those here without NHLCI.  Glad people got to watch the MSG feed tonight too.
