  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, game exemption thing was pulled sideways fresh outta my bum and I regret adding to any confusion now. I shall sit in the corner of shame for 3 mins.
  3. He speaks with an authority beyond his years. Teammates have said as much. It might be because he grew up in an NHL family.
  4. If there's a games played exemption, I didn't see it. The age rule is 20 on or before Dec31. The only other rule would be 4 accrued whl seasons.
  5. Will be shocked if Adams makes any roster moves before getting a new HC and his input.
  6. Right after the post where @LGR4GM confirms (again) that Benson cannot go to the AHL next year ...
  7. And we’re listening to Muel opine about leadership because…? Does anyone consider him to be any kind of authority on the subject? Work on your durability, young man.
  8. Well I’d agree that even a Drury type player won’t change the culture in Buffalo anymore. In the past 13 years there have been several iteration's of rosters or mini eras and none of them knew how to win. So I’m not expecting any savior to come in and save this franchise at this point. The product on the ice the past 13 years is FAR more than the quality of players on the roster. We’ve had talent here and it hasn’t mattered. The real change needs to come from above from the head coach, GM etc Maybe one of these days we will find the right combination. Done holding my breath waiting on it though. Will be happy whenever it finally happens.
  9. I understand what you're saying. I disagree.
  10. None of your “leaders” mentioned know how to win, Tuch with some experience with Vegas. I strongly believe they need a vet or two with winning experience that can actually contribute to the product on the ice. Erik Johnson wasn’t that guy. We have plenty of guys with experience now. We don’t have enough guys with experience winning games. There is a difference. Chris Drury changed the culture in the locker room years ago, THATS the kind of leader they need to bring in. But with no move clauses being what they are these days, I don’t think there is another Drury type that will ever agree to a trade to Buffalo sadly.
  11. "I would say we wouldn't really need to bring in, like, veteran leadership. I think guys have been in the league long enough now where it's on us. We don't needs someone else to tell us how to do it." I've been thinking this to an extent. They jettisoned Okie and several people have mentioned in the exit interviews and discussions about them how the new coach will likely want to bring in veteran leaders. I think the leaders are here. I'm not saying we shouldn't bring in any veterans to fill needs on the team, but I really don't think leadership is something we have to bring in. Dahlin will be in his 7th NHL season next year. Clifton's 28. Tuch is 27. A lot of players are 25. I think a lot of the players had a real reality check this year rather than losing their love for the game, they seem, as a team, to be more determined to improve next year.
  12. It is more than plausible that both the GM and the head coach sucked this past year. Granted, Adams didn’t do much to help Granato this past year other than running it back with mostly the same roster. But also according to almost every player exit interview, Granato wasn’t doing nearly enough. I’m glad Granato is gone, would be pleased if they moved on from Adams, but that’s not happening apparently. Adams has one more season to save his butt or he will follow Granato out the door in 12 months.
  13. VO and Jost are two I think are gone.
  14. I really wish Girgs would have been traded to a playoff bound team. IMO he deserves it. Maybe they make the playoffs next year and he's still here. That would be cool AF.
  15. Tucson is towards the bottom of the AHL in attendance. The ownership is doing the best business move to keep hockey alive in Phoenix while working on the new Phoenix arena. Tucson isn’t a professional sports towns it’s Arizona Wildcats and nothing else because it’s a college town in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo
  16. Arizona Coyotes fans are ridiculous they want to blame the current owner who is trying to get an arena built in Arizona. The whole area is to blame Coyotes fans are going to hit the jackpot when they return in 5 years like the Cleveland Browns. The bottom line the NHL wants to be in Phoenix. I think people are way over estimating Utah as a NHL/NBA market playing at the same time of year with major league prices and a small television market. We will see but I have my doubts about Salt Lake City as both a NBA and NHL market time will tell. The sad reality is the current Winnipeg Jets might end up being the Phoenix Coyotes again in 5 years because the Winnipeg market is too small and the arena is too small. No way is Canada building the Winnipeg Jets a new arena. I think the odds are the current Winnipeg Jets become the new Phoenix Coyotes in five years. With NHL expansion to Atlanta and Houston sometime in the early 2030’s in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo
  17. Today
  18. Personally don’t think the intent is to clean house, it’s to maximize the effectiveness of what’s in house. Fringe free agents like Davidson, Comrie, Jost and Olofsson will likely be gone. More useful ones like Jokiharju and Girgensons could be. And I would think others are available if it brings in the desired piece, like Mitts was. But I think the focus will be on adding, not moving pieces out. Really curious if they take a look at cutting ties with Skinner because he’s the sole exception I could see to the above. But I just don’t think there’s a market, or that a buyout makes sense. Rather it will more be about how well he can adjust to this new standard in order to avoid becoming next year’s sideshow.
  19. I see him as a Sebastian Aho type of player. I am not ready to anoint him as a sure fire superstar but he was excellent in the NCAA as a very young man and I was impressed with him being Canada’s best player at the WJHC at 17.
  20. I don’t think the report is true unfortunately. But too many Buffalo fans still can’t see through Terry Pegula what kinda of Western New York fan sells the Rochester Knighthawks? What kind of Western New York fan does business with Legends owned by Jerry Jones instead of going to all Western New York vendors in the new Bills Stadium like the Buffalo Bisons do? Terry Pegula is an owner who cares about the bottom line profits. If I have to hear anymore Terry Pegula walks on water I want to throw up. Buffalo sports existed before Terry Pegula and will exist when he sells his teams. This man has over half of Buffalo fans brainwashed. Because he bought the Buffalo Bills for profit he is allowed to run the Buffalo Sabres into the ground forever with no complaints what a joke? Some in our Buffalo fan base mostly hardcore Bills fans that back everything Terry Pegula does no matter what have no belief in Buffalo anymore which is sad really to see. It’s not the Buffalo I grew up in anymore too many Buffalo fans bowing to Terry Pegula. Like there is no possibility other than Terry Pegula to own the Buffalo Sabres locally? Terry Pegula has been terrible owner for the Buffalo Sabres and Key Bank Center in my opinion. Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo
  21. New coach could change everything Looking forward to it
  22. Yes, this, definitely, without question. If they get rid of Skinner in any way, even a buy out, I will regain my love for hockey 🙂 I think the rest of this, for me, has to wait until I see who that coach is.
  23. So Hamilton is basically saying Cozens lost his love for hockey in Buffalo? idk, I didn't like his exit interview clip. He seemed flat and detached and it lacked himself taking any personal responsibility. Unlike Tuch, he never says "I" need to be better. After seeing it I thought I was wrong about Cozens and he is definitely not captain material.
  24. If any of this is true it would mean that Adams was spewing total lies in his press conference and thus I'd suggest everything else he said might have been lies as well. Just saying. Anyway, I'd be more than happy if he did sell. He'd make a tidy profit and we'd have to look for someone else to blame. Everybody happy.
