You couldn't have said that better. Hazy IPAs are so overrated. I don't mind the odd one but its gotten out of hand.

Adams: “Here Jarmo here is a bucket of black paint. Go start painting stripes on Power. This is the Sabres way”😁

I have a huge family in Buffalo. I have 7 nephews and 4 nieces in the area ranging from 21 to 38. Six of the boys played youth hockey and love the game. None of them will by Sabres tickets, the last one that did just gave up his seats for this season, he is 34. None of the girls or their husbands attend games either. I think the new school hockey people don't like the Sabres approach either. An entire generation of the fan base only knows losing. I don't think you can find a single demographic that likes the Sabres approach.

But they are not here. You can't say we have the guys we got from picks we traded for if we are unloading the guys we picked to get those picks. There's no progress there. What we got for Eichel and Reinhart does not equate to what they are. Dahlin as I said was one of the two first overalls. I'm not going to say "we drafted well" when we pick the top ranked overall #1 pick cause we were first pick. Nobody is going to say Islanders GM was a genius this year for picking Shaefer. You could also argue we should have taken Draisaitl not Reinhart but what would be the point of that? The point is IF we were truly great at drafting we'd have a roster filled with our draft picks and we would have hit on several lower picks as our bottom six and depth at least so we wouldn't have to trade for that and keep getting that wrong as well. Considering how high we consistently get to pick and how many extra picks we have, our drafting has been mediocre at best.

Good info @LTS. I don't know if the hockey ratings are straight percentages but a quick Google told me that TV ratings are expressed as a percent of the population (1.0 is 1%) so it is a reasonable assumption to say yes to that question. The second part - factoring the cost of living and average amount spent on entertainment is beyond the scope I am willing to go. First part - As you know "Buffalo Metro" does not include the portion of Southern Ontario that comes to their Metro area regularly, attends Bills and Sabres games, and spends money. This is an unfortunate disadvantage and it makes their scores lower than the reality of the actual situation. So is your bottom line that the NHL should not care about Buffalo and they are not a viable market? What will happen in Salt Lake City if they go even 4 straight years of no playoffs? The league would hate that after they failed in Phoenix.

I’m no connoisseur, but the varieties I have tried are quite simple. Imagine a honey wine. I am interested in adding other ingredients during the process to make different flavours. There are lots of YT channels that illustrate the process (including the aforementioned Golden Hive mead).

Actually by supporting him , you do root for your country to fail. That's the funny part that you people never realize.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
SwampD replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
I’ve been watching Grimm and enjoying it. It’s Buffy-esque and campy, but I still like it. Plus, if you get into those early 2000’s series, a season is like 22 episodes. It’s going to be a while before I’ll have to find something else to watch. -
Great quote.

I just wonder how much (if at all) TP’s influence spills over to coaching. The fact that Ruff answers directly to him is a concern. Forget about talent on the ice, the biggest gap with the rest of the league might actually be with the talent behind the bench. Until that gets addressed, I think the Sabres will continue to underperform.

Surprised Luke Hughes isn’t signed yet. Would it likely take four 1sts to offer sheet him? And I’m starting to think offer sheeting Mason McTavish might be worth it. It won’t be the highest tier. Reading that the Ducks want to bridge him so maybe he’ll be more inclined to accept a long term deal and shoot, maybe the Ducks won’t like the long term deal and refuse to match it. I just think McTavish is just what we need for this year and the next 10. He’s a future star.

Actually, as long as you have an adequate supply of duct tape, it is WAAAAAY easier to paint stripes on a pussycat. 😉

Jarmo: A lot easier to tame a tiger than paint stripes on a pussycat

LISTEN UP.. I'm only saying this once. Stop calling each other names. It's childish. There will not be a warning, you will be removed from the forum. There's no need to call someone an idiot, clown, pedo-lover, etc. Just cut the crap. Stop calling people pedo supporters, etc. Stick to the known, undisputable, facts about topics related to Epstein. But keep in mind, there are Republicans AND Democrats linked to him. No one is safe from that linkage. Using highly incendiary topics such as pedophilia require a high level of responsibility to go with it. Raise the level of discussion or stop discussing it here.

The reason why the wallets in the area are not opened for the Sabres is because the product has consistently been inadequate. Compare that to the Bils and the Bandits where the wallets are opened and the seats are filled? If you count southern Ontario and the surrounding region as part of the hockey market, then the market is wider than many people portray.

Yeah, the yeast and locking in fermentation temps makes a big difference. However, if you brew long enough you get a sense of what it will taste like. Now, if you are not paranoid about sanitizing then you really are in for the unexpected. I was more concerned about sanitizing surfaces than I was measuring anything or timing, etc. It was a small price to pay to make sure I didn't completely waste money and time. All hoses, connectors, etc. sat in a bucket of sanitizer. All work was performed on a stainless steel table that was sanitized. Never had an infected batch.. whew. The times I wish I brew now are for times when I get a hankering for something brewers just don't make. Things like Juniper Wit Beer, Baltic Porter, Foreign Extra Stout, coconut IPA, etc. Until the past year I might have thrown west coast IPA into that list but thankfully places around here are making those again... it was only a matter of time before someone decided 72 hazy IPAs didn't provide enough differentiation to matter. Hell, Birdhouse Brewing in Honeoye has a Grodziskie on tap. That's something you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere. So I've been down there a bit more often than usual because it's an incredible style. Abandon has a Peppercorn Saison on tap.. that belongs in my list above as well. Saisons, really good ones, are too hard to find and Peppercorn Saison is amazing for summer. I brought a 4 pack home after visiting.. because driving an hour to get the beer on tap really doesn't make financial sense. 🙂

And, I believe, drafted by Winnipeg with a first-rounder provided by Tim Murray in the ill-fated Evander Kane trade. So maybe GMTM still has a chance to win that one?
