Jiri Kulich to miss significant time with blood clots
Brawndo replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Some random thoughts During my Emergency Medicine Rotations, I had an attending who liked to talk about rare conditions and one of them was Commotio cordis, where a sudden blow to the chest at the wrong moment can cause cardiac arrest. My attending had seen a case of the month before when a teenage pitcher took a line drive in the chest causing cardiac arrest. There is another condition called prolonged QT syndrome where the electrical cycle of the heart takes longer to reset. It can be completely asymptomatic.Females and certain ethnic groups such as Eastern Asians are more predisposed to this condition. It is hereditary, but one needs to know their family history. There are certain medications which can also cause a prolongation of the QT Interval. One of these classes of medications is macrolides which are antibiotics, azitromycin ( Z PAK). When someone with undiagnosed prolonged QT Syndrome takes a Z Pack there is the risk of Torsades de pointes a cardiac arrhythmia which can lead to cardiac arrest. -
Smart woman 😉

Glass half full would say we must be better this year then because we are still around the same with all these issues. However close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Yes he was certainly over-played but as a 3rd liner he was a fine player. We just put him on the Top line. Also Pommers did well 1-20 and 60-82 approximately while he didn’t exist 21 to 59

Ruff on 'GR this morning: Zucker hasn't eaten solid food in 9 days!

My niece's daughter who was 13 years old had her schoolmate and best friend pass away from contracting viral meningitis. I'm not saying this to be morbid or dramatic but, as you are doing, pointing out how serious this illness can be. You never know when you can be facing unexpected misfortune. -
Sounds like he’s getting tips from my wife

Striking that amidst the cavalcade of shite we are on pace for about the same about points as we did every other year under Adams. Really says something about his performance the years we didn’t suffer an ungodly amount of injuries 78 point GM on average, rain sleet or shine

Most viruses are treated with supportive care and in some cases as evidenced by Zucker take longer to get over. For example EBV or Epstein Barr Virus which causes mono can be prolonged and present with nausea and vomiting I rotated with one of the Sabres Team Doctors for 4 years during residency. They have same day access to any specialist, imaging study or lab work that maybe required. Weekends and Holidays included. When McKee had His Infection, one of the team physicians and a ID Doc stopped by his house everyday to check on his progress, as slow as it was. -
is that bad?
-
He'd only be good for one night and dissappear the rest of the season.

73 man/games lost to injury in 15 games

Considering the amount of time key players are going to be out, this season is doomed. -

So many questions. From my career doing process improvement and problem solving analysis, I want the data to try to answer the "why". Anytime there's an outlier, there's typically a special cause, not random variation. Might not be enough data to determine that though. -

I did not see this turn. I’m all for thinning out the herd as long as my kid isn’t one of the culled. Too many morons breathing the air on this flying ball of dirt. With the overgrown populations in third world countries, it’s only a matter of time before some awful version of a communicable disease is thrust upon us where we lose half the world’s population. And dont even get me started with the weather phenomenon’s we’ve bees seeing the last decade. Mama Earth is coming for us. Probably soon rather than later. I’ve had a good run. -
It’s not a tank when you just suck

At this point I’d try St. Nick in the slot, he should at least be able to box out the D

He did a Gerbe!

Scheme fit is not a small consideration when drafting players.

Looking at numbers doesn’t define a role. McConkey is a better football player than Keon, but he doesn’t do the thing the Bills need well. lol to your Palmer and Samuel comment. Agree to disagree.

It’s nice to see that the filter for his name still exists.

Could be Thad. Short for Thadius.

Almost time to think about Gavin McKenna?

Sure, everyone wants that. But you can’t just ignore what’s happening while the season crumbles. And for the record, no one mentioned tanking. -
74 if you count Dahlin's leave of absence. It leads the NHL by a mile https://nhlinjuryviz.blogspot.com/2025/10/202526-NHL-man-games-lost-plots.html Kris baker and Matthew Fairburn discuss this and other things related to Kevyn Adams on their latest pod, including potential succession scenarios.

Oh God no. He's certainly above Power and if he wasn't, 3 guys would have overtaken him (Stenberg. Verhoeff, and Belchetz). He's imo a half step below Bedard/Celebrini but it's still early, so idk yet. He's lacking a 200ft game, fully. His offensive ideas though and skill-set are on par with Celebrini. McKenna creates offense.

Disagree. McConkey would be helping them. Look at his numbers. He leads his entire draft class in receptions and yards. McConkey has 52 receptions and 631 yards and 4 TDs, while Coleman has 32 and 330 and 3. Palmer and Samuel are fast and can run deep routes to take coverage with them. That would make things even better for McConkey and Shakir better. McConkey knows how to get open.
