It’s hard to say what his value is. His contract isn’t a deterrent. His health and inexperience is. I could see him possibly having a higher upside than Quinn. There were times when he played he looked better than Quinn at least. I think it comes down to what Jarmo thinks of his injuries and probably the attitude he carries. If jarmo says he quits on his teammates and doesn’t go full when he’s not happy, then pass.

Is Adams done with his "overhaul" of the Sabres 25-26 roster?
Taro T replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
They definitely were. Giving Dahlin, Power, and Byram their own pairing while having Thompson on the W with 2 kids, upping McLeod's ice time (pretty sure a fair amount of that was out of necessity but also to see how he'd handle the extra load), running Reimer heavily. 2 conclusions they drew were that Reimer wasn't good enough to rely on should UPL falter this coming year and that Bernard-Docker didn't improve Power's play enough to risk giving him the sort of contract that Timmons will get. One other they seem to have come to is that Quinn's improved play down the stretch (there was no way he could be as bad as he was early in the year and stay in the NHL) was an indication that he'll bounce back. You don't give a guy twice what Krebs is making if you expect he'll be in the press box or Ra-cha-cha regularly. They also decided that McLeod is a good one and that they were willing to overpay for the leadership that Greenway and Zucker bring. Really would've been interesting to see what moves they'd've made had Peterka not wanted out. Because the team is essentially the exact same minus the Peterka for Doan and Kesselring move. -

Östlund, Rosen and Kulich's Corsi is interesting, any theory why they are that high? -
3rd round draft pick, I wouldn’t give up Krebs or anyone else from the roster. If he cracks the bottom 6 fine.

I'm going to predict there will be a hockey trade before camp. We are going to move a current Sabres forward for another forward. -
I'm intrigued but never got into it. But I have let regular apple cider go bad.

If Dahlin ends up leaving, pack it up and call it the end of the franchise. There's no coming back from that death spiral. And whether that happens comes down to, for the second season in a row, them taking the cheapest corrective action plan to the roster. Last year, the 3rd line center + 4th line revamp followed this year with some bottom 6 wingers and perhaps a 2nd/3rd pair defensemen. We're being sold again that the sum is greater than the parts. As in, better team defense and goaltending with equal offensive production moves them into the playoffs. I'll believe it when I see it. The lack of urgency is appalling and as @JP51 noted, the owner is completely ignorant that it's go-time. And even if Adams is fired during or after the season, Jarmo ain't stopping the bottom dropping out.

Arrests and other apprehensions have occurred regularly for decades, especially at the Canadian border. So why all the sudden focus on these individual border arrests by enforcement officials for doing the jobs they’ve been doing for years? It’s a rhetorical question because we all know why. Gotta replace those empty daily DOGE accomplishments with something I guess.

Other than the usual possession studs Dahlin and Benson, the Sabres in general had Corsi under 50% down the stretch. Even Tuch was at just 46.5% The exceptions were the Rochester trio of Rosen, Östlund each over 55 and Kulich over 53 I got the impression the organization was using the stretch to try some things out. Wonder what conclusions they drew? -

Samuelsson predominately got the Dahlin pairing but still only had a 45.8% Corsi. But he was +3 in 20:31 -

It'll be real interesting to see how Ruff deploys the D. Could see Dahlin starting a game paired with any of them except Power or Samuelsson. And could see Power with any but Dahlin or Byram. (And, yes, realize that Ruff ran Samuelsson Dahlin at the end and a fair amount of Power Byram early; but just personally don't like those pairings. So, maybe who those 2 won't play with is more hoping than expecting?) And, yes, if putting money down, would expect Dahlin and Byram to be a thing again. -

Another interesting snippet from that stretch run was Byram. He got 9 assists and was +6 with a 47.5% in 21 1/2 minutes I point this out because this was a time where Byram was not usually playing with Dahlin. His normal partner was Clifton, who had a Corsi of 42.8% -

That stretch run was also very interesting in terms of what McLeod did with that ice time and the argument he’s not good enough to be a 2C Dude put up 22 points in his final 22 games and just one of those was on the PP and he wasn’t playing with Tage He was also a +4 but his Corsi dropped to 46.9% -

Kulich centred Thompson, but he wasn’t the 1C - McLeod was getting nearly 4 more minutes of ice time a game. That was kinda my point earlier, as poorly expressed as it was. With Norris out, Kulich was getting 15:40 a night down the stretch compared to 19 for McLeod and 15 for Krebs. Kozak and Östlund split the 4c role and each got 10. Even if Kulich Thompson Benson remains a line, Kulich is not going to be the 1C -
How annoying are the fans in the Tour de France?
-
A) it’s not uncommon for big holding companies to focus on problem areas of their business B) The Shanahan stuff has been deemed hogwash by most reputable sources C) The doom and gloom is not universally shared and some national publications list Buffalo in the more improved and fringe playoff range. D) Most of these media pundits have an agenda E) The league’s bigger problem is the divide between the halves and halves nots which they try and hide with their silly points system.

Its been about a decade now, but I could swear on the talk shows out of toronto, the same people walk talk about the Sabres tanking and say it was embarrassing, they should be punished (draft picks taken away, etc), and yet the very next year, would heap praise on Toronto for doing it to get matthews, saying how smart of an organization they were.

For me, the draw is the suspense of not knowing what the beer is going to taste like until close to a month after you put the work in. It's like a kid waiting for Christmas. I don't think I'll ever graduate away from BIAB and get into what you guys have done, nor would my wife sign off on it. It'd be nice to have a tap, but I seriously fear Weave's story, and my willpower not to grab a pint or two with dinner is not very good. If I did, at most I could see myself getting something like this as it would easily fit in the spare fridge. https://www.vevor.ca/beer-mini-keg-c_10709/vevor-beer-growler-tap-system-170oz-5l-mini-keg-304-stainless-steel-pressurized-beer-growler-keg-growler-with-pressure-display-co2-regulator-faucet-leak-proof-ring-for-draft-homebrew-craft-beer-p_010690630801

Sorry, I was really not intending my post as a criticism but more of an observation and certainly not meant to get you to respond like that. It's all good with me if you used a thread to post your own collection of thoughts. It's all good with me if you respond in multiple threads. I accept the difference you were referencing. I just was finding it interesting that the club is littered with Trump examples so I thought maybe there would be more discussion in here simply on the older platforms that differ so much from today. In any event.. not a big deal and sorry if you took my post as a critique of your posting or your message, it wasn't meant to incite.

And at that point in time the gossip around the league was that Jon Cooper was on the hot seat.. hah!

My story is much like Weave's. I started with buckets in my townhouse about 25 years ago. Gradually worked my way up to a 30 gallon stainless, propane system with a 15G conical. Had the conical on a stand in a freezer with a temp control that would either kick in the freezer or engage an electric heat wrap as needed. Buddy and I went our separate ways and I assembled another 20G system at my house. I don't have the conical. It has sat there for years because I just don't have the time and frankly there is beer everywhere now and I can find something to drink. I still have a 3-4 tap kegerator sitting here as well but nothing in it. I'm trying to sell all of it.. not sure I will ever go back to brewing and if I did I would convert to electric. Either I'd drill into the stainless and put in heating that way or use conduction but on 30G that's a tough call. I brewed a ton of beer, enjoyed the hell out of it. Gave a ton away. Toyed with jumping into the brew business but couldn't take the financial risk at the time. I had some of the top brewers in the area giving my beer compliments so I felt like I was doing okay (they weren't just being nice, they would critique and did on some less good batches). It's a great hobby and I still sometimes wish I had the desire to do it more just so I can make some things you never find but the time and desire just isn't there any more.
