  1. Past hour
  2. Would you prefer they just don't do anything?
  3. If he were that thin-skinned he would've sold the team ages ago. But if that really did upset him, his next action should have been to tell Sheevyn, "I will never be booed by the home crowd again." And then fired him into the Sun and spent the resources to get a winning hockey ops department.
  4. The journey continues as East Aurora soccer won regionals 1-0 last Saturday. The boys were taken by police escort this morning as they head to State Championships in Middletown, NY. Can't wait to make the trip tomorrow! It's the furthest EA has ever gone in Class A so hopefully they get the job done. It was the best, and most important sporting event I have been to in my life šŸ‘Š It makes the Bills and the Sabres so secondary....a total eye opener.
  5. The Sabres are bad at hockey, fire everyone, make moves for the future, blow it up & rebuild……..yada, yada, yada. Things we’ve heard over the past 15 seasons. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  6. In general, we are in accord. Roster construction is inextricably linked to the culture on the team. As you point out, it is not simply about accumulating talent as it is getting the right talent/people in the room. In any line of work, getting the wrong mix of people can become detrimental to the atmosphere that also takes away from the production of the right people in the room. Having the right mix also applies to the staffing within the organization. If not, you are going to have internal conflict that affects the output of the franchise. There will be too much push/pull instead of everyone understanding the necessity of moving in the same direction. The problem with the Sabres is that it is headed by a third-rate owner who put together a third-rate organization. Until the organization is properly staffed with the right people, it will continue to falter. It isn't about luck or unluck ---- it's about competency. There should be no surprise that a hollowed-out organization staffed by feebly talented people results in failure. It starts with the owner!
  7. The most unified fanbase in a generation, perhaps?
  8. They do put on a consistently very good podcast and discussion.
  9. That is one possibly although highly unlikely. I don’t think he gives two shits what the fans think of him or the Sabres.
  10. Because the Sabres have not developed them the right way. The have handed most of players the keys to the kingdom without teaching them how to rule the kingdom. There is a reason why players like Rosen and Ɩstlund are playing well, because they had time to develop their game in the AHL.
  11. After watching most of that pod cast and given both the coach and GM are on expiring contracts It's time. Don't let the Buffalo's run away.
  12. Baker is a total knob but he’s correct here I think. There will always be Alphas who are intrigued by the challenge That’s a good point too
  13. The sad irony that Adams essential mandate was fixing the culture and he’s made it oh so much worse than it ever was that’s what a long form rebuild tacked on to 9 years already missing will do for the record, no sabres GM has missed the playoffs more than 3 times in a row, all time, besides Adams. Who’s on track to double it definitively the worst sabres GM of all time
  14. This is like saying, If I can dunk a basketball on a 10 foot net would you let me play in the NBA... that is a pretty safe bet that isnt gonna happen... I think at this point if Adams can pull a turnaround with this team and get them to the playoffs... sure lol let him stay you can fire him in november of next year ... bottom line we are currently in last place in the conference... again... the hole gets deeper... we are going to need to play like a contender to win the division to make the playoffs... the injuries are insane... I just dont see a path for that to happen... 14 points currently and 6 points out we need to theoretically increase our point production by 43% plus make up the 6 to keep pace and be in a tie for a playoff spot... coincidentally I would need to increase my leaping ability by the same amount to dunk a basket ball LOL šŸ˜„
  15. Today
  16. Kevyn Adams woke up today and got back to the grind An inexorable force of raw nature. If you have the ability to perceive anything at all, you can rest assured that Kevyn Adams is still relentlessly employed, pushing the boundaries of ineptitude further in the role than they have ever been pushed ā€œGreatness inspires envy, envy engenders spite, spite spawns lies. You must know this, poor Sabres fan.ā€ ā€œYou call it ā€˜greatness,’ what you have been doing, do you?ā€ asked the Sabres fan delicately. ā€œCertainly,ā€ said Adams, and his eyes seemed to burn red. ā€œI have experimented; I have pushed the boundaries of evaluation years and team building further, perhaps, than they have ever been pushed -ā€ ā€œOf some kinds of team building,ā€ the fan corrected him quietly. ā€œOf some. Of others, you remain…forgive me…woefully ignorant.ā€
  17. Sabres are an attractive option in that it can't get any worse and one can really make a name for themselves in Buffalo if they get us turned around into a perennial playoff team. It's all about Terry allowing the POHO to do their thing, give him full reign and be in the background.
  18. Kevyn's gonna get a promotion, isn't he? President of Hockey Ops? Only in Sabresland.
  19. That's a name being floated. Baker and Fairburn said as bad as the Sabres are, there are people who'd still come here to run the team.
  20. I was willing to be patient but the time has come to make major changes. I pray they are the correct ones.
  21. What we really want is for Terry to hire a (please, God) competent PoHO and then spend money but get out of flippin' the way. And if finances are tight because of the new stadium or what have you, sell some minority stakes in the Sabres. There's probably an easy $400MMM right there.
  22. True, I guess this is something I have to say 'be careful what we wish for'
  23. I have noticed there are some posters on this board who had patience with the current regime that are now calling for massive changes. I would think that opinion is also creeping into the general fandom outside of this forum. Just how long can Terry Pegula wait before cleaning house? The more time that goes by, the more it does look like he just does not care all that much.
  24. Start about 19/20 mins
  25. Fairburn is the Athletic Sabres beat writer so he covers the team 24/7. In earlier pods they have discussed the dynamic between Jarmo and Kevyn as being cooperative, not antagonistic as you might expect with someone gunning for your job would be. Jarmo is in Buffalo (not Columbus) at games and practices, side by side with Adams, or right now on the road with the team. So they surmise that there is a handoff at some point being planned. This pod is essentially a plea to Terry to act sooner rather than later. And they go into all the reasons why. You know them already.
