Looks like Adams is relaxing and taking a the Kings/Leafs game.

He's looking to see if Travaling or Holland are interested in hiring an AGM that's been running a 2nd round of expansion team with a long history of success (though no ULTIMATE success, though we're still waiting for the finish of the '99 season, so maybe) that ended about 1 decade before he took over or if they'd be interested in buying a slightly used skate sharpener or a used Zamboni with lasers on its underside.

As much as many here might derive some perverse satisfaction from watching the team implode as UPL implodes behind them tonight, Ruff is actually TRYING to win games. He's doing it right now with 2 hands tied behind his back (his ACs behind the bench with him and 6 or so starters out of the lineup for various reasons); but he ISN'T going to let UPL get put between the pipes in a game he'd have almost no chance whatsoever of being successful in. We can disagree with a lot of his choices (and literally mean a LOT of his choices), but he isn't intentionally tanking and there's no way he'd start UPL on the road with a depleted lineup against one of the best teams in the league. There is ONE way this game ends up competitive - Lyon stands on his head even better than he has in any of his other starts this year. Personally would have them use Ruff's late 90's playbook - hunker down, limit chances, look for odd-man rushes, treat the PP like the golden chance it is in a game like this (meaning somehow keep Appert completely out of the loop on running it), and don't be afraid of giving up a lot of shots provided they're nearly all from the outside, and then make sure you get to any rebounds Lyon gives up. IF they can do all that, and get a little bit of luck, maybe they can win one they shouldn't have any chance in. (Wouldn't have any money on the Sabres though.)

Regarding his comments… Eh, oh well. Arizona and Utah aren’t exactly hockey hotbeds so the fan bases generally get excited when a goalie makes a save on shot from center ice. Regarding Kesselring himself… haven’t really seen much good in his game anyway. Hes a right handed version of Samuelsson that supposedly that has a harder shot. Wouldn’t know it

Huh, I figured they'd offer UPL as the sacrificial lamb tonight. Guess he needs to be protected. 🙄 I see no way this game is even remotely competitive. I am looking forward to seeing more of the Rosen-Ostland-Quinn line, so at least there's that?

The injuries and Dahlin situation are a baked in excuse to do nothing. I'm firmly convinced Adams isn't going anywhere because of exactly that. This outfit loves doing nothing.

A little better? Maybe. Guys like Zucker, Dahlin, Benson should just with the talent/experience injection (not including Norris because he's a ghost, a myth). But it'd still be awful because it was awful dating back to last year. Hell, it was faltering at the end of the Grenato days, it just fell off a cliff when Appert took over. Watching it this year, it looks more like a schematic issue than a talent issue. They remain obsessed with the drop pass which has never added anything. When they get it into the offensive zone I see a lot of standing around and almost no purposeful movement. There looks like there is zero plan. They just waltz into the zone and stand around waiting for something to happen and this has been happening for almost 100 games under Appert. Seth Appert is the issue, he SUCKS.

Up 4-0…wow this is even more fun than watching MacKinnon and Makar light us up 3. Lose 5-4…Well at least I got to see MacKinnon and Makar light us up

He's having a rough start to the season and now at age 32 he's probably lost a step in addition to any lost from his reconstructed knee. He has only 1 goal on the season, though he had another wiped out by an offside challenge. But you know come playoff time if he's healthy he'll be a contributor along the wall and in front of the net.

The Quick Look report says he starts on the 3rd pair. What he does with this opportunity will be up to him, but let’s give him a chance. I did notice that Ray and Dan called out the Utah fans for cheering the wrong thing a few times. Many do not understand the nuances of the game, but they really like the action and effort.
