Jarmo: A lot easier to tame a tiger than paint stripes on a pussycat

LISTEN UP.. I'm only saying this once. Stop calling each other names. It's childish. There will not be a warning, you will be removed from the forum. There's no need to call someone an idiot, clown, pedo-lover, etc. Just cut the crap. Stop calling people pedo supporters, etc. Stick to the known, undisputable, facts about topics related to Epstein. But keep in mind, there are Republicans AND Democrats linked to him. No one is safe from that linkage. Using highly incendiary topics such as pedophilia require a high level of responsibility to go with it. Raise the level of discussion or stop discussing it here.

The reason why the wallets in the area are not opened for the Sabres is because the product has consistently been inadequate. Compare that to the Bils and the Bandits where the wallets are opened and the seats are filled? If you count southern Ontario and the surrounding region as part of the hockey market, then the market is wider than many people portray.

Yeah, the yeast and locking in fermentation temps makes a big difference. However, if you brew long enough you get a sense of what it will taste like. Now, if you are not paranoid about sanitizing then you really are in for the unexpected. I was more concerned about sanitizing surfaces than I was measuring anything or timing, etc. It was a small price to pay to make sure I didn't completely waste money and time. All hoses, connectors, etc. sat in a bucket of sanitizer. All work was performed on a stainless steel table that was sanitized. Never had an infected batch.. whew. The times I wish I brew now are for times when I get a hankering for something brewers just don't make. Things like Juniper Wit Beer, Baltic Porter, Foreign Extra Stout, coconut IPA, etc. Until the past year I might have thrown west coast IPA into that list but thankfully places around here are making those again... it was only a matter of time before someone decided 72 hazy IPAs didn't provide enough differentiation to matter. Hell, Birdhouse Brewing in Honeoye has a Grodziskie on tap. That's something you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere. So I've been down there a bit more often than usual because it's an incredible style. Abandon has a Peppercorn Saison on tap.. that belongs in my list above as well. Saisons, really good ones, are too hard to find and Peppercorn Saison is amazing for summer. I brought a 4 pack home after visiting.. because driving an hour to get the beer on tap really doesn't make financial sense. 🙂

And, I believe, drafted by Winnipeg with a first-rounder provided by Tim Murray in the ill-fated Evander Kane trade. So maybe GMTM still has a chance to win that one?

These ratings are percentages right? And that matters since the league makes money on people, not on percentages. not scientifically gathering population to make sure all sources are the same and I am rounding but: Buffalo - 1.125M = 61K viewers Pittsburgh - 2.457M = 103K viewers Las Vegas - 80.5K viewers Detroit - 4.3M = 148K viewers Minneapolis - 3.75M = 124K viewers Boston - 4.9M = 162K viewers Denver - 3.05M = 94.5K viewers In the end, Buffalo is the lowest in that list to actual people who spend actual money. It's good to know that Buffalo has a strong percentage of hockey fans but in the end, it's a small market with a lower amount of wallets to be opened. Now, factor into all of that the cost of living in each of those locations and the amount spent on "entertainment" and that's what REALLY matters. Not sure how high Buffalo ranks.

Can someone update this chart to include season ending 2024-25 numbers?
-
Right. Because being dedicated to the rule of law and what our Constitution stands for and questioning when our “leadership” acts in ways that are anathema to it, is “openly rooting for my country to fail to spite him.” Trump and his cohorts are the only ones attempting to see our country fail imo. It’s my responsibility as a patriot to resist that any way I can and posting in this forum is the least of it. As Mark Twain once said, “Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.” The current clown show in charge doesn’t deserve one iota of my support. If that doesn’t sit well with you, too bad, but I have a far bigger responsibility than satisfying your definition of patriot.

Yes, I was a West Sider. Going to Canada’s was common and easy. No doubt the Sabres attendance, already mediocre, is going to take a hit. The people that live close to the boarder on either side are the most affected and that is a big majority of Canadians overall.

What’s particularly pathetic about many of his followers is even though Trump said last week he doesn’t want their support anymore, they still offer it up anyway. Makes you wonder.

I’m not sure exactly how replacement level is defined, but I don’t think it’s Peyton Krebs. Im thinking the 12/13th forward is a good proxy? There are 344 forward positions available in NHL starting line ups. Krebs rankings for various stats: Games played: 81 3/4 forward Goals: 10 8/9 (Wenberg, Tanev, Appleton, Ryan Strome) Points: 28 7/8 (Kerfoot, Mangiapane, Henrique, Dowd) TOI: 13:56 7/8 (Gallagher, Goodrow, Domi, Crouse) +/-: +1 6/7 (Boldy, Cooley, Barkov, Granlund Face offs: 49% 6/7 (Schiefel, Coyle, Point, Backlund) Hits: 136 3/4 (Lowry, Staal, Evans, Lomberg) Blocked shots: 32 7/8 (Tkachuk, Byfield, Paul, Kadri) SA%: 49.4% 6/7 (Rust, Point, Mercer, Marchand) Statistically speaking, last year’s Krebs was well-above replacement level and looks like a pretty solid 3rd-line NHL forward. (Stats based on all NHL forwards with 66+ games played)

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
JujuFish replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
I watched Poker Face season 2. The story has been kinda weird this season, but Natasha Lyonne makes it work. -
As a kid I used to cross the bridge and ride my bike to Crystal Beach. The border officer would just wave me in.
-
It sucks, I grew up in Riverside so I used to go to Canada a few times a week by foot or bicycle as a kiddo. I almost feel like Canada is the same country (at least to me) so it breaks my heart even more with this nonsense.

There was an article in the Buffalo News saying the drop is over 30%. Can't blame them one bit. Even I get nervous returning to the US.

That, or he's got a deal worked out with some team but that team wants/needs to make a move or 2 before getting the deal finalized.

They also announced her show pretty late, doesn’t help with sales. But yeah Shania didn’t help. It wasn’t even on our schedule. Had to call a bunch of people in because they didn’t know they had to work.

When I was flying out this week I spent a deal of time in Toronto at the airport, was chatting with some locals and it's really sad to hear their perspective on coming over. Many just aren't, citing hassles at the border and etc... A few even said last time they came across the border patrol was asking their opinions of the political situation and the president, which seems wrong and probably not legal. I don't think the rest of the country understands how much this crap is hurting the local economy and on a larger scale the economy on a whole. Add that to the fact that we haven't properly recovered from the pandemic as of yet and here we are. To keep it back on point, I'm supposed to go see we lost the sea in Cleveland this week (post rock) band

Bottom line to me we have seen this show in some variation 14 times... we made some precursory changes by trying to get a bit better defensively and grit wise by removing offense and one of our better young offensive players... still need a G, and a C... the more it changes the more it stays the same most people will view this until it actually does change. Maybe it will maybe it won't but I can't blame the same ol same old folks... I am probably one of them hoping against hope a new mix of player finally gets it to click... but deep down i know that isn't a likely forgone conclusion...
