  1. Past hour
  2. Or just give them back the pick they stole from them and force the Oilers to trade McDavid to the Sabres.
  3. But hey, we got Rotislav Klesla for him.
  4. Christ, we’d have broken the drought if we’d had peak Halak over the past few seasons. Dude was solid for a long time.
  5. Metaphor requires a certain distance from literalism. Ah, well. I think your intent was clear enough.
  6. Jaro, We hardly knew ya!
  7. Today
  8. One of the best hockey markets in the US is in big trouble and the problem 100% points to one person. That Shanahan rumor, if true, tells you exactly what the problem is with this team. Every off season is the same, we lose better players than we gain. No players in their prime will come here. I could rant about the past 14 years, but it’s useless I am not attending any hockey game in Buffalo this year for the first time EVER.
  9. The idea of the gif was to say his value is not much, not trade him for money.
  10. Wow. Corey Booker ignored, like he doesn't exist and can't be heard, while the committee votes on nominees. Sad and captivating at the same time https://x.com/GuntherEagleman/status/1945855414274257378/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1945855414274257378&currentTweetUser=GuntherEagleman
  11. It was against the league’s interest for the team (and other teams) to tank like we did. They should have stepped in and saved the Sabres from themselves back then.
  12. I was heavy into the hobby until about a decade ago. Enjoy. Its a black hole of time and empty calories LOL. I made a 15 gal brewery in my garage. Had 3 taps running in the house. And was buying barley in 50lb sacks. Toyed with business plans to open a brewery, but never had the courage to leave a very good job to do it. I brewed for about 15yrs, gained 40lbs, scalded the hair off my left leg permanently, and loved doing it. I started it because when I was 30 the local beer market was almost entirely macro lagers, and if I wanted something else I had to buy it. Today I have 3 breweries with 10 miles of me in a very rural area. Beer variety is everywhere, so I don’t have to make it anymore. And I’ve lost 25 of the 40lbs since I quit. Dive in feet first. Geek out on it. Learn the chemistry. Its a blast.
  13. This is interesting, curious to see how it plays out https://apnews.com/article/immigration-medicaid-trump-ice-ab9c2267ce596089410387bfcb40eeb7?taid=68792317ae8665000187bb75&utm_campaign=TrueAnthem&utm_medium=AP&utm_source=Twitter
  14. The league actively took part in denying the Sabres McDavid. They did nothing for over a decade, they were busy situating the 2 Florida teams and Vegas to explode/grow those fan bases for money all while Pegula dismantled and destroyed a small market teams 50 year brand. They can do nothing, it’s proven it will not do anything. No calvary is coming to save this fan base, it’s just the reality of the situation.
  15. I think we need Tuch and Tage to be on different lines for sake of balance even if Lindy hadn’t decided they’re both right wings. I don’t like the heirarchy method of line construction. That said, right now Benson is a better hockey player than Quinn and a better complement to Norris and Thompson in terms of his game. As far as the Kulich thing goes, 1C was referring to ice time and usage. Benson’s “1st line” role would be Brieres Hecht or Drury’s Grier. And yes, it is a sad situation that he’s the teams best option there. Hopefully he grows into it.
  16. So, the next time the Sabres miss the playoffs, let the league slip them the mystery lottery win which has never happened when they haven't been the league's worst team and only happened 2 out of 4 times they were the league's worst team.
  17. To what extent can the league get involved?
  18. NHL players can't be traded for money.
  19. 4 years more than the red wings , maybe Atlantic is hardest part of the league
  20. I used to make hard cider for many years. I stopped around the same time I had kids, but kept my stuff. Back then I always thought beer was too much work. Then a couple months back I saw a YouTube clip on the Brew in a Bag method. I ordered a mesh bag off Amazon, got some ingredients from a homebrew store, and pulled out my old stuff. Some of my BBQ thermometers and outdoor frying equipment came in handy too. For my first batch I went with an Amber Ale. I thought it was okay, but everyone else really liked it. My second batch I've got fermenting is an IPA. I'm hoping it doesn't turn out too hoppy as I went for flavour over bitterness. My next batch will be a lighter American Wheat Beer like Blue Moon, but I think I'd like to try to sub out another flavour for the orange. Maybe lemon or lime? Any ideas? I'm thinking I'll shoot for maybe 4% over 5% as I want this to be a drink by the pool beer. Anyone else into the hobby? Any recipes or stories to share?
  21. Bowling Byron? … and were worried about AI killing us all?
  22. Seems that they were right on with the view that Byram would be walking straight to free agency in two years, because that is exactly what happened. Sabres should have traded him before the draft. Now, and as noted, they have an asset that is diminished in value.
  23. OK Mr @7+6=13 wow me with your hockey knowledge. The question was "what will an NHL GM offer for Bryson"? You disliked my response, i.e. loose change (like a 6th rounder, a grade b prospect, or a minor league tweener). The the guy is an undersized career 7-8 defenseman on a bottom tier team. The guy is decent skater that moves the puck when he has room, but he gets into big trouble under a forecheck, and he cannot clear the net front. He is not much offensively, does play not PP, and should not play PK. You seem to have other thoughts. What is the correct answer? What will Bryson get on the trade market?
