  1. Past hour
  2. “Is a gaping hole at C really worse than the guy the GM signed for 7 years 50 million?” is an odd flex
  3. Not if he's in because somebody was banged up last night and can't go tonight. Just hoping they don't end up dressing him as the 6th D (with Jones as the 5) and Ellis as the 12th F.
  4. Adams reading this list
  5. No, no it wouldn't. It would say "we give up"
  6. You do know they are the ones who hired him, right?
  7. Auston Matthews out, some guy named Dennis Hildeby in goal. Leafs up 2-0 after the first. Adams is watching another Atlantic team pull further ahead. (subject to change.)
  8. I love it. Be a heel. It's good. The league needs more of them and more personality in general. But of course, he's not done jack in Utah yet, either. They're currently 4th in their division and tied with the Blackhawks. (Though I do love how their team plays.)
  9. I can see him being a little too abrupt for the likes of Pegulas the Wise and Sheevyn to have a future here. Whether he is a good coach, becomes a great coach, or not.
  10. Yep just toe the company line. In the immortal words of Will Smith:
  11. This is why every player interview is, "gotta get pucks in deep, go to work." I'm fine with players talking about fans, wildly inaccurate expectations, and whatever else. Be a human when you're in an interview. It'll be fine. Fans are idiots, just like 24-hour sports cycle hot takers. The only problem right now is Kesselring hasn't gelled with his partner (I don't know who it will be from game-to-game yet), or his new team and structure, and as much as we all want him to be a top-4 and his Utah metrics say he could be top-4 --- he's only been that player for one season. He'll have that shield down, we gotta give him more time.
  12. I just think whether you are Kesselring, Thompson or Josh Allen you shouldn’t say anything that can be perceived as a jab at fans. Especially Buffalo fans considering what they have been though and how loyal they are. Not end of world, but nothing can be gained by doing it.
  13. Ruff himself may have to suit up
  14. Looks like Adams is relaxing and taking a the Kings/Leafs game.
  15. He's looking to see if Travaling or Holland are interested in hiring an AGM that's been running a 2nd round of expansion team with a long history of success (though no ULTIMATE success, though we're still waiting for the finish of the '99 season, so maybe) that ended about 1 decade before he took over or if they'd be interested in buying a slightly used skate sharpener or a used Zamboni with lasers on its underside.
  16. Today
  17. As much as many here might derive some perverse satisfaction from watching the team implode as UPL implodes behind them tonight, Ruff is actually TRYING to win games. He's doing it right now with 2 hands tied behind his back (his ACs behind the bench with him and 6 or so starters out of the lineup for various reasons); but he ISN'T going to let UPL get put between the pipes in a game he'd have almost no chance whatsoever of being successful in. We can disagree with a lot of his choices (and literally mean a LOT of his choices), but he isn't intentionally tanking and there's no way he'd start UPL on the road with a depleted lineup against one of the best teams in the league. There is ONE way this game ends up competitive - Lyon stands on his head even better than he has in any of his other starts this year. Personally would have them use Ruff's late 90's playbook - hunker down, limit chances, look for odd-man rushes, treat the PP like the golden chance it is in a game like this (meaning somehow keep Appert completely out of the loop on running it), and don't be afraid of giving up a lot of shots provided they're nearly all from the outside, and then make sure you get to any rebounds Lyon gives up. IF they can do all that, and get a little bit of luck, maybe they can win one they shouldn't have any chance in. (Wouldn't have any money on the Sabres though.)
  18. Regarding his comments… Eh, oh well. Arizona and Utah aren’t exactly hockey hotbeds so the fan bases generally get excited when a goalie makes a save on shot from center ice. Regarding Kesselring himself… haven’t really seen much good in his game anyway. Hes a right handed version of Samuelsson that supposedly that has a harder shot. Wouldn’t know it
