  1. Past hour
  2. I won’t miss any of them. I save that for special players on special teams who gave me enjoyment and pride.
  3. Maybe “sacrificial lamb” is a more accurate term, but I still think he was scapegoated.
  4. To answer my own question, the players I would really miss watching would be Dahlin and Zucker. Dahlin for his sheer all around talent and Zucker for his intensity for the game and his hockey smarts. Honorable mention to McLeod, Doan, and Malenstyn, all selfless players who add some excitement.
  5. Still not really. But I will concede that Adams should have also been fired when Granato was.
  6. Today
  7. It was all a show.
  8. Then trade Tage for 1 Beta and 2 omegas.
  9. Yesterday
  10. We’re getting closer to posting the mathematical ninjutsu this team would have to do just to get a wild card spot. You know, where we say it’s possible if they win X games out of X even though they failed to do anything like it the whole season.
  11. The "coaching search" was the last straw for me with Adams. Zero effort. Nada. None. He made the laziest hire possible and thought he'd get away with it because Lindy would ride in on this glorious wave of nostalgia from when the Sabres were last a competent hockey organization. Never mind that he was a below average coach, at best, who had made the playoffs just 3 times in 11 years after the Sabres fired him. Piss off.
  12. What good could come of that? Everytime he speaks publicly he sticks his foot in his mouth.
  13. I’m sure I have recency bias but I’d cope well without any and all. I probably pull for Malenstyn now as much or more than the rest. Gives it every shift. Zucker and Doan are also fun to watch.
  14. I'm of similar mind. Get Doan back with TNT and Tuch where they can all work together. Benson gets the shooter with speed in Norris. I'd probably keep Zucker with Quinn, but Quinn is often so completely hit and miss that it may not matter as much. I still think if everyone is healthy that he's the guy without a role (except shootouts), but then he should be getting 4th line minutes, not playing with McLeod who is a defensive/speed matchup and PK specialist.
  15. Well, I am sure not missing not watching any of them right now.
  16. UPL - He is what he is. An average (at best) NHL backup. He had a pretty good two month stretch two years ago but is largely mediocre. Let's in too many soft goals. Lousy lateral movement and positioning. Horrific rebound control. Lyon - Was a good story the first couple of weeks but has regressed back to the mean. He's a sub .900 guy who should be used very sparingly if you have ANYONE else. Ellis - Need to see more. Last few starts haven't been good. Has some skill that is evident, but not sure he's a full-time NHL 'er yet. He should be getting steady starts. Levi - At some point you need to see what he has. We know what UPL is. We know what Lyon is. Devon needs his chance soon.
  17. The team needs a trade like 45 years back. Gare, Shoney and Derek Smith to Detriot for McCourt, Foligno and Brett Peterson. Send a shock through the organization . In last place..again ! Nothing to lose but our minds. Sick of this nonsense. No one is safe. Get some freakin' grit.
  18. Dahlin - I'm giving him a pass for his degraded play this year due to all the personal stuff he's dealing with. Coming into this season I think he was a legitimate top-10 defenseman. TNT - His inconstancy can be frustrating, but he's the most gifted offensive player we have. Plus he seems to have developed a mean streak. Zucker - Just a hard-nosed, greasy guy that does a little bit of everything. Doan - Same as Zucker but a dozen (I think) years younger. Benson - Our little ball of hate. Plays with max effort every shift. Playmaking has improved this year. Needs to start scoring more goals. I think the Sabres did his development a disservice by throwing him right in the frying pan at 18 on a bad team. Norris - (when healthy) is a very talented offensive centreman who plays a pretty responsible two-way game. McLeod - Fastest guy on the team, outstanding penalty killer, doesn't wow defensively, but I feel like he's one of our better forwards in that aspect. Tuch - On the fence here. Before this season, he was an excellent player. I think the losing is wearing on him because I don't think he's giving full effort on a lot of shifts. Guys like Kulich, Ostland, and Rosen are just potential right now. Muel has been good this year. Power and Byram can kick rocks. The rest of the forwards I wouldn't even notice if they were gone...same for the goalies.
  19. Good post. IMO Levi is already better than both Lyon and Ellis. Ellis won't clear waivers? So what, who cares, he's not the answer. I'd prefer a Leinonen and Ratzlaff combo in Rochester, and UPL/Levi in Buffalo. Adams is a moron.
  20. So game tomorrow? 6 dmen on the roster and the team in Calgary, where a 7th dman won't get to if someone gets sick or is injured pregame That's the best thing that could happen to this team - playing a full game with 5dmen cause they have 3 goalies. hockey media across the league would have a field day with that. Maybe the laughter gets so loud Terry just has to act? Probably not but maybe?
  21. Dahlin but he isn't at the level I expected him to be this season. I think you can see the frustration building as the season goes on That being said, I'm giving him lots of leeway due to the summer he had. I fully expect he returns to elite level next season.
