Sabres' Girgensons had to change positions again

'Most players say one end of the ice is more difficult to adapt to when you’re playing center. Girgensons agrees, “Probably more defensive zone cause you’ve got to play low and I do like playing low, but if you play enough games on the wing, you kind of get away from the center mindset, so I’ve just got to watch a couple of shifts before the game and refresh the memory.”' … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Girgensons had to change positions again

Is there anything left to this Sabres season?

'As a reminder, the team that finishes last overall has an 18% chance of winning the lottery and ending up with the top pick in the draft. That top pick is expected to be star in the making defenseman Rasmus Dahlin. Since you can't drop more than three spots in the order, the worst team drafts no lower than fourth. A big Sabres-Coyotes showdown is looming March 21st at Key … [Read more...] about Is there anything left to this Sabres season?

Pominville sends Sabres to 2-1 OT win in Tampa Bay

'The Sabres finally solved Vasilevskiy at 11:47 of the 3rd on Rodrigues' 6th goal of the season. Rodrigues kept the puck in the zone, maneuvered around Andrej Sustr and flicked a shot just inside the post, tying the game 1-1. Sabres' Rodrigues knows the newest Sabre very well

'O’Regan isn’t big, but he’s fast. He was the American Hockey League’s rookie of the year last season netting 23 goals and 35 assists for 58 points in 63 games with San Jose. Rodrigues isn’t surprised with what he brings to the table, “It’s his smarts and he’s able to read plays. He always seems to be in an open area. Sabres end deadline day making just one trade

'Lehner may be the most interesting of the players not traded on Monday, while veterans like Gorges and Pouliot will probably be gone this offseason. Lehner will need a new contract in the offseason, so Botterill can either sign him to a long term-deal or he could trade Lehner's rights to a team looking for a goalie. Sabres bounce back with 4-1 win over Boston
