The Sabres find themselves back in the lottery conversation

'If they finished where they are now, the Sabres would have a greater than 50-50 chance of picking 6th or 7th. The kind of pick that won't get anyone excited for next season. Their chances of getting a top three pick, however, would be enough to have Sabres fans paying attention to the draft lottery.' … [Read more...] about The Sabres find themselves back in the lottery conversation

Sabres get dominated by Lehner and the Islanders, 5-1

'The lone bright spot was for Buffalo was winger Victor Olofsson, who notched his first career NHL goal on a late power play to ruin the shutout bid for former Sabre Robin Lehner. Eichel was the only other Sabre to register a point, making the pass for Olofsson's goal.' … [Read more...] about Sabres get dominated by Lehner and the Islanders, 5-1

The Sabres quit on another game

From the Locker Room: Sabres-Islanders

'"I feel like they came out really strong, but I feel like we worked our way back in the first period a little bit. Then, obviously, it didn't go the way we wanted, so we just got to get right back at it tomorrow."' … [Read more...] about From the Locker Room: Sabres-Islanders

Sabres' Montour is eating up a lot of minutes

'Buffalo has only won two of the 15 games he’s played in. They didn’t do a lot of winning in Anaheim when he was there either and Montour said, “It hasn’t happened all year, I think if you look at my season with Anaheim we didn’t have the best results there too, so I think every player goes through these seasons and unfortunately mine was this year."' … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Montour is eating up a lot of minutes

Olofsson: NHL debut was 'a dream come true'

'"It would've been amazing to get that first goal, and that's another dream I've always had - to score a goal in the National Hockey League," Olofsson said. Sabres comeback falls short, 5-4 in OT against Detroit

'Mittelstadt scored two minutes later to bring Buffalo back within a goal, 4-3. The goal was the forward's 12th of the season. Jeff Skinner and Jason Pominville assisted on the goal. Less than a minute later Jack Eichel was able to use a strong wrist shot in the slot to beat Howard and tie the game 4-4 in the third period. Victor Olofsson recorded his first career NHL point on … [Read more...] about Sabres comeback falls short, 5-4 in OT against Detroit

Sabres' Olofsson has a succesful NHL debut

'Olofsson has done a nice job of improving his game this season in Rochester. It was very obvious in the preseason that he wasn’t near NHL ready and Chris Taylor and his staff have helped him learn the North American and the pro game. Olofsson along with Will Borgen are a perfect examples of what proper development looks like. In my opinion Tage Thompson’s development is the … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Olofsson has a succesful NHL debut

From the Locker Room: Sabres-Senators

'"I said this before, everyone has something to play for. At this point, really, everyone has something to play for. Just the way that the last little bit's gone, it's been embarassing for us. If you can't play for self-pride, find something, find some motivation to play for. But everything has to get better."' … [Read more...] about From the Locker Room: Sabres-Senators

Sabres sign Fitzgerald to entry-level contract
