One of hockey's best ever and he played here

'Hawerchuk wasn’t in Buffalo that long, but he did not disappoint. Over his five full seasons wearing blue and gold, Hawerchuk scored at least 86 points in each season. He didn’t score as many goals as he did with the Jets, but Hawerchuk was a premier playmaker as his 275 assists would attest. He wasn’t the captain of the Sabres, but he was certainly a leader. He was also a … [Read more...] about One of hockey’s best ever and he played here

Sabres unveil new royal blue jerseys

'The new royal blue jerseys are very similar to the navy blue jerseys that the team has primarily worn since the 2010-11 season. Aside from the change in color, the crest on the front of the jersey is bigger and has adopted the detailing of the 50th anniversary jerseys the team wore this past season. In addition, the swords on the logo are also detailed with beveling to give a … [Read more...] about Sabres unveil new royal blue jerseys

New Sabres jerseys are a return to the good old days

'Considering the lack of faith in the organization a large number of the fanbase has developed, there was concern they would find a way to mess this up. Maybe the shade of blue would be too dark, maybe they would try too hard to make a brand new jersey design. Sometimes when it comes to jerseys, teams make things more difficult than they have to be. They get too fancy with a … [Read more...] about New Sabres jerseys are a return to the good old days

Kim Pegula: Time off for Sabres allowed them 'an opportunity to change course'

'"Knowing next season wasn’t going to start on time, and that even the draft, usually held in June, was now going to be delayed, we decided to take this as an opportunity to change course," Pegula wrote. Kevyn Adams has a low bar to clear for drafting

'It really starts in 2012. Darcy Regier, who was already on thin ice, took a chance on a polarizing Russian center named Mikhail Grigorenko. Big stats in juniors and filthy hands made fans excited, thinking they had gotten the steal of the draft. Then he showed up and everyone realized he couldn't skate. The Sabres selected a center that never had any business being selected … [Read more...] about Kevyn Adams has a low bar to clear for drafting
