‘”When I first got into coaching, I wanted to be at the NHL level, now,” McKee said, when he was part of the 2006 team that was honored. “Now, after a couple of years, I grew an appreciation for how much you learn, every year. It’s really no different of a mindset for me, when I was a player. I wanted to achieve at the top level, and have success, and it’s the same thing as a coach. I just have a great appreciation for it. It took a lot of development as a player. It takes a lot of development as a coach. If and when the time is right, and someone believes in me, I’ll have the opportunity.”‘
