'Dunn came to the Sabres organization as a free agent in 1977. Sabres Top 20 Talents in 2016: No. 14 - C Zemgus Girgensons

'Girgensons is too good to play on the Sabres fourth line, but not good enough to play with the Sabres best forwards on a regular basis. It’s a tough position to be in. If Girgensons produces more offensively, and I think he will, then maybe he’ll get some time with players like Jack Eichel and Ryan O’Reilly on a more regular basis. I think Girgensons is closer to the player we … [Read more...] about Sabres Top 20 Talents in 2016: No. 14 – C Zemgus Girgensons

Quick hits: Bruins 4, Sabres 3

'The Sabres played a physical game against the Bruins, but it resulted in trips to the penalty box and power-play goals for the Bruins. The combination of short-handed play and poor puck control contributed to a lack of scoring chances through two periods.' … [Read more...] about Quick hits: Bruins 4, Sabres 3

Nylander finally finds the net

'"I got a really good pass and it was a relief when I scored so it was good to get the first one," Nylander said. "We had a good push during the end. We were playing good hockey. It was good play by us and I was lucky to get the goal there. I think I was better in the third. I've just got to bring that every game. We all have to play like that next game."' … [Read more...] about Nylander finally finds the net

Martin goes on offensive in bid to impress Sabres

'“I think I could help quite a bit in the offensive play,” Martin said Monday in HarborCenter. “I want to be relied upon defensively, but I know I have a lot to work to do before I can be a well-trusted guy. I’m just going to do my best and work with the coaches and make my game what they want it to be.”' … [Read more...] about Martin goes on offensive in bid to impress Sabres

'Buffalo gave up three goals in the first but finally got a goal from Justin Bailey just minutes into the second period. The Bruins responded later in the second period making it 4-1. Sabres Top 20 Talents in 2016: No. 15 - D Brendan Guhle

'The jump to the National Hockey League for a 19-year-old defenseman might be a little unrealistic, but Guhle has talent. This year Guhle looks bigger and stronger than he did last season and more responsible in his own end. While the improvements are noticeable, another year in juniors could do a lot for the development of Guhle -- but his fate won’t be determined until … [Read more...] about Sabres Top 20 Talents in 2016: No. 15 – D Brendan Guhle

Sabres' Bailey, Baptiste putting hard lessons to good use

'It will take more than offense for Bailey and Baptiste to make the leap from Rochester to Buffalo, and the wingers know it. They showed it during the weekend with all-around games and detailed practices.' … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Bailey, Baptiste putting hard lessons to good use

Sabres' Nylander ready to rebound after poor debut

'“We have to remember he’s nervous, too,” Lambert said. “He’s got a lot of pressure, and he knows he can play better. I think that’s the main thing. Jack Eichel, normally booed lustily in Canada, now ‘united as one’ with longtime foes at World Cup

'“For the most part, I’ve never really been received well in Canada,” said Eichel. “It’s the same (for Canadians) in America. You know they’re rooting for their home country. Sabres' Baptiste is on a mission
