Sabres’ O’Reilly facing impaired driving charge

‘O’Reilly’s blood alcohol reading was over 80 mg, equivalent to .08 in the United States, thus meaning he is subject to an immediate 90-day suspension of his license. If convicted, he faces a fine of $1,000 & license ban of 1 year.’

‘Penalties under Canada’s Highway Traffic Act for leaving the scene include a fine of between $400-$2,000, a maximum of six months in jail, seven demerit points on a license and a suspended license for up to two years.’

‘Varone (5’10”, 185 lbs., 12/4/1990) appeared in a career-high 28 NHL games during three recalls with the Sabres in 2014-15, logging five points (3+2) and 10 penalty minutes. He spent the majority of the season with the Rochester Americans (AHL), where he posted team-leading totals in both points (44) and assists (29) for the third time in his four AHL seasons, earning a spot in the AHL All-Star Game.’
