‘“You definitely can’t have one or two guys to carry a team,” said Stamkos, who entered the game tied for fourth in the NHL with 21 goals. “You need depth and we’re finally seeing that these last couple of years here. The drafting is paying off but the depth that we’re acquiring is paying off. Once you have that depth, you can go out and add pieces to that puzzle. The last 2-3 years we’ve been able to do that and seen it pay off.”’
