Cassidy said the benching was a message, “It was a coach’s decisions.” I asked what he didn’t like about his game and Cassidy said, “Effort level, not good enough. We got a lot of guys here trying to make a NHL team in the next week or so and I wouldn’t specifically say he was maybe the only one, but maybe the biggest offender. We just didn’t like his effort and we had to make a decision on it.” Cassidy said it’s a one game thing and Zadorov will be in the lineup Tuesday against St. Louis.’
