‘I understand why Sabres fans would be booing this team, no matter what the score was of that Devils game or how many good chances they did or didn’t give up on a certain shift. I understand why other Sabres fans would resent people booing, as it not only can have a negative effect on the team’s play it also fosters an unpleasant atmosphere. And I also understand why the players, some of whom bear little or no responsibility for the team’s plight, would mind.’
