Being barbaric, I love hockey fights. Here’s two TV missed last night, including Cody McCormick putting Ryan Getzlaf onto frozen water and Paul Gaustad wrestling Kyle Chipchura.

We’re here today at the Buffalo Pro Sports Medical Center to check on the condition of the Buffalo Sabres, who have been in the Intensive Care Unit for several weeks. Recall that we took the pulse of the Buffalo Bills on Monday, and their status seemed to be rapidly improving.
Apparently contrary to “last week’s break-up news” (we’re not exactly ahead of the hockey player couples gossip here, I guess), the word is that Buffalo Sabres goalie/U.S. Olympic standout Ryan Miller confirmed his engagement with actress Naureen DeWulf.
‘"We’ve got to be able to jump on a team that’s coming off a stretch like that," Sabres center Cody McCormick said. "It was just a game we’ve got to have. We’ve got to make sure we’re on top of the guys, on top of their team when they’re a little tired."’
‘"There’s a lot of good and bad emotions that I’ve had over the last month, month and a half, but tonight is not about me," Rivet said. "It’s about me fitting into a team that I want to try and help these guys play better. I want to play better. Things are not going to happen in just one game, but I’m going to start with tonight to try and build some momentum. I’m going to give everything I have."’
‘Craig Rivet had a goal and assist, Drew Stafford and Nathan Gerbe also scored, and Derek Roy and Jordan Leopold added a pair of assists each for the Sabres, who rebounded from consecutive losses to Florida and Tampa Bay over the weekend.’
‘Drew Stafford, Nathan Gerbe and Craig Rivet also tallied for the Sabres, who have won five of their last six at home.’
‘For the third time in three years the Sabres have stood tall against a much bigger Anaheim team.’
