'Defenseman T.J. Brennan, drafted 31st overall, was returned to St. John's of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, while defenseman Drew Schiestel (59th) was returned to Niagara of the Ontario Hockey League.'
'"We've had success recently, and once you have a little taste of that, you want to be there all the time," right wing Drew Stafford said. "That's a ways away from us now. What we want to do is get off to the right start, but it definitely is something you shoot for over the season."'
'…forwards Benjamin Breault (Baie-Comeau, QMJHL), Jean-Simon Allard (St. John’s, QMJHL), and Paul Byron (Gatineau, QMJHL); defensemen Drew Schiestel (Niagara, OHL) and T.J. Brennan (St. John’s, QMJHL). This leaves the Sabres with 36 players still in training camp.'

They will make a quick, 45-mile trip from Grafton to Grand Forks to watch an exhibition game between the Minnesota Wild and Paul's Buffalo Sabres in Ralph Engelstad Arena (7 p.m.). Other family members will travel from Fergus Falls, Minn., Minneapolis and Madison, Wis.'
'The game will bring familiar faces back to Grand Forks. Former UND All-American Drew Stafford and Fargo native Paul Gaustad are forwards for the Sabres. Former Sioux All-American defenseman James Patrick is an assistant coach for the Sabres.'
