‘Quinn said the team is selling season tickets at a rate likely not seen since the 1970s, and their oft-stated goal of 12,000 is about to be passed solely by people who hold tickets to all 41 games.’

'Celestino says the fight is hardly over. He says he's changed the mission statement of his website to let fans know they can vote with their wallets. He says if fans buy more of the third jersey logo and ignore the merchandise with the new logo, the Sabres may go back to old-school logos full time.'
'Pominville played the first 18 games with the Amerks scoring 19 goals. He was recalled with the injury bug hit the Sabres and played so well they couldn’t send him back.'
'Quinn says the team is trying to assure fans who have expressed feelings of betrayal that the team misled them about going back to the old jerseys.'
'Lydman, who was acquired from Calgary last August for a third-round pick, accrued 17 points (1 goal, 16 assists) in his first season with Buffalo to go along with 82 penalty minutes in 75 games.'
'Buffalonians, Quinn admitted, aren’t known for embracing change. He expected the new logo to be met with disdain, especially since the team dropped hints about returning to the original jerseys full-time during ceremonies for Pat LaFontaine and Danny Gare. But when the comments got vicious, even Quinn realized flexibility was necessary.'
'"We have been planning all along to use the original colors and logo as our third jersey for next season," Quinn said. "Given the outpouring of fan concern the last few weeks, we decided to make this announcement now instead of September as originally planned. We are still committed and enthusiastic about our new uniform and believe that fans will embrace it once they have a chance to actually see it."'
‘The Sabres will unveil their new uniform during the week of September 24, at a time and place still to be determined. The team will actually wear their new jerseys for the first time on Saturday, September 30, in their only home pre-season game at HSBC Arena against the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7:00 p.m.’
'The Buffalo Sabres has avoided arbitration with Jason Pominville and Toni Lydman. Pominville gets three years, 3.1-million dollars. He'll make $800,000, $925,000 and 1.375-million dollars.'
'A five-year NHL veteran, Lydman will make $2.3 million next season, $2.9 million in 2007-08 and $3.15 million in each of his final two years. He made $1.9 million last season, his first with Buffalo after the team acquired him in a trade with Calgary.'
