'In his rookie season with the Sabres, Gaustad posted nine goals and 15 assists with 65 penalty minutes in 78 games. The 24-year-old played in all 18 of Buffalo's playoff games, collecting four assists and 14 penalty minutes.'
‘Gaustad’s agent, Carlos Sosa, said the Sabres prompted the deal by opening talks late last week. Sosa added, Gaustad was seeking a two-year deal because it leaves him eligible for one more year of arbitration in 2008.’
