Sabres Talk About Season-Ending Loss
'"A lot of times we got those penalties and big power play goals scored for us," says Sabres co-captain Daniel Briere. "It went against us tonight. We're not going to use an excuse. We lost. We lost. That's the end of it."'
Tried and tested
'The Sabres made for a nice story, but they lost; and frankly, the better, more experienced team won. I don't really care how hard the Sabres tried because I know the 'Canes tried equally hard and I might add that Carolina added some of that much needed depth and it certainly helped in securing the win.'
A Few Final Words and a look forward…
'And, as for Sabres fans still bitter about their ultimate fate in these playoffs, why not get over it and stop complaining about injuries. There’s no doubt that your team was ravaged along the blue line, but it’s not like Denis Potvin, Paul Coffey and Bobby Orr were out of the line up. Kalinin, Numminen, Tallinder, and McKee were all good players, but they weren’t/aren’t super stars.'
Wrapping Up Game 7
'Miller should wonder out loud why he wasn’t pulled for the extra attacker following the Williams penalty and less than 2 minutes on the clock. There is no Game 8.'
