The Vancouver Canucks rode into town with a horde of fans that rivaled a Maple Leafs invasion. They left with a 4-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres and convinced the sellout crowd at HSBC Arena that they prime Stanley Cup contenders.
'"We had opportunities in the second period to get back in the game," Ruff said. "We missed some great opportunities."'
'Fans' response to the brilliant slogan, "It's Our Team, Let's Keep it That Way" has essentially been, "It's Your Team, Please Keep It Away."'

Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff started a little competition between his two goaltenders early last month. He told Martin Biron and rookie Ryan Miller that the only way to ensure consecutive starts was by posting a shutout. The initial results, three shutouts in four games, were impressive.
