Portland Press Herald reports: '"You go through a long and extremely drawn-out interview process, and I was very comfortable with the way things went," Dineen said Thursday night by phone from his family vacation retreat in Lake George, N.Y. "At the end of the day, when things don't fall in place, there's disappointment."'

Buffalo News reports: 'The Sabres announced a party of their own Wednesday. They will open their 40th anniversary season Sept. 18 with "Puck Drop 2010," a daylong event at HSBC Arena that will feature the first day of training camp, the unveiling of the team's commemorative third jersey and the opening day of individual ticket sales for the season's final 31 home games.'

AP reports: 'Mancari was a restricted free agent who spent most of last season playing for Portland of the American Hockey League. The 2004 seventh-round draft pick led the Pirates with 74 points (28 goals, 46 assists) in 74 games to finish eighth in AHL scoring.'

Sabres.com reports: 'Mancari (7/11/1985, 6’4”, 225 lbs.) has led Buffalo’s AHL affiliate in scoring for each of the past three seasons, including 74 points (28+46) in 74 games for the Portland Pirates in 2009-10.'

MSG.com reports: Leggio spent last season in Finland, where he backstopped TPS to the SM-liiga championship, posting a 1.57 goals-against average and .952 save percentage in seven postseason tilts. He had a 2.93 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage in 30 regular-season games.

AP reports: 'Gragnani, Buffalo’s 2005 third-round draft pick, has an opportunity to play with the Sabres this season after spending last season with Portland of the AHL. Noted for his offensive skills, Gragnani had 12 goals and 31 assists in 66 games last season.'

Sabres.com reports: 'His 12 goals were third among AHL blueliners, and he was 11th in defense scoring. In addition, six of Gragnani’s 12 goals were scored on the power play. In three AHL seasons with Portland/Rochester, the 23-year-old has 146 points (35+111) in 220 games. He has also played in six NHL games with the Sabres during this time.'

Sabres.com reports: 'Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent defenseman Shaone (pronounced SHAWN) Morrisonn on a two-year contract.'

AP reports: 'The Buffalo Sabres have placed forward Tim Kennedy on waivers. If he clears, it's expected that the team will buy out the remainder of his contract.'
