Connolly helps Sabres roll into the regular season


‘Connolly’s goal was especially pleasing for the fans, as the center was finally able to suit up for his first preseason game. The Syracuse-native had been sidelined with a groin injury suffered during an intra-squad scrimmage prior to the team’s first game against Columbus last week. Lying on his stomach in front of the Penguins’ net, Connolly tapped the puck past starting goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury for the goal and the eventual win.’
