‘Terms of the deal were not immediately released, but it’s expected to include a raise over the $450,000 Pominville made last year. A restricted free agent whose rights were retained by the Sabres last month, Pominville was scheduled to have his contract settled in an arbitration hearing Friday.’

'As a rookie with the Sabres last season, Pominville tallied 18 goals with 12 assists for 30 points in 57 games. The forward began the campaign with the club's AHL affiliate in Rochester, where he was leading the league with 19 goals in 18 games before his recall on November 26.'

Briere may influence Nagy, 'Yotes

'"The market's going up and not down, and whether a player plays 48 games or 82 games, players are being paid for what they produce," Keator said. "The injury issue isn't as significant especially based on what some of these guys are getting in arbitration or even getting for contracts. . . . Players are being paid based on what their level of production has been throughout their careers."'

Patrick Will Join Sabres Coaching Staff

‘Patrick will replace Scott Arniel, who left to become the head coach of the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.’

Top scout for Sabres now a Bruin

'Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier had forecast the departure of Benning and Houda late last week, so their new jobs were not a shock to the organization. The top of the team's scouting department has been left bare, though, as Don Luce, director of player development, didn't have his contract renewed and Terry Martin, director of professional scouting, took a job with Colorado.'
