Briere goes ahead with hearing case, Kapanen avoids arbitration

‘Briere, 28, earned $1.938 million US last season when he put up with 58 points (25-33) in only 48 games and added 19 points (8-11) in 18 playoff games. It’s expected he’ll get a one-year award of between $4 million to $6 million.’
