Sabres LW Peters signs 1-year deal; D Hejda traded to Edmonton

'The Sabres received Edmonton's seventh-round pick in next year's draft in exchange for Hejda. Buffalo's fourth-round pick in the 2003 draft, the 28-year-old Hejda is unsigned and has spent his entire career playing in Europe.'
