Focus of Sabres’ offense misdirected

‘The Sabres were fortunate that goaltender Ryan Miller was on top of his game throughout that unfamiliar first period. Miller was peppered with 16 shots and was forced to make a number of high-pressure saves, including a point-blank one-timer from Ottawa winger Dany Heatley at the left post during a 5-on-3 power play and a wicked wrister in the low slot by Jason Spezza with just over a minute left before the first intermission.’
