‘Daniel Briere is heading back to Switzerland, and he’s bringing one of the NHL’s best with him. The Buffalo Sabres center agreed to rejoin Bern on Wednesday, and he will renew his partnership with Dany Heatley of the Atlanta Thrashers.’

"Our system works, it's proven itself," Buffalo Bills Cornerback Troy Vincent added. "You look at those 32 owners, they're all on the same page. It's a shared revenue stream from top to bottom."
The Amerks have released six players from their 2004 training camp roster: goalie Chris Madden, defensemen Sylvain Dufresne and Jay Leach, and forwards Scott Sheppard, Nicolas Corbeil and Darren VanOene.
'Connolly is playing for the Swiss club Langnau. He missed the entire 2003-04 season because of a head injury during an exhibition game a year ago. Connolly, the fifth overall pick in the 1999 entry draft, had 12 goals and 13 assists in 80 games the previous season.'
'According to sources, the deal looked imminent a few weeks ago but has stalled for some unknown reason, perhaps because the NHL lockout has removed any need for urgency.'
'"We heard through the grapevine that he wanted to play, and it worked out for everybody," Amerks General Manager Jody Gage said. "It's a win-win-win situation. We had one opening on our back end, Jeff wanted to make sure he continued his development and the Sabres will have a more polished player once the NHL resumes."'
'"I was at home one day and they gave me a call," Jillson said. "It's great to stay playing for the Buffalo organization. From what I've heard, we have a great team here and a great bunch of guys."'
Jillson joins a defense that includes Brandon Smith, Todd Rohloff, Doug Janik, David Cullen, Steve Lingren, Nathan Paetsch and Ryan Jorde. The group now has over 2,500 professional games of experience, three Calder Cups and two NCAA national championships.
Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the team has released eight players from their 2004 training camp roster. The players are goalie Greg Hewitt, forwards Nathan Gilles, Mark Langdon, Nathan Martz and Craig Soke, and defensemen Mike Jarmuth, J.P. Morin and Jeff State.
'Jillson will make an undisclosed minor-league salary, far less than the $1.3 million deal he had agreed to with the Sabres in July.'
“One of the first things that we noticed about him was his determination and his willingness to go into the traffic areas and corners, and compete for the puck," stated Cunneyworth.
'That charge does not carry any jail time.'
"I tried out for the Team Canada baseball team when I was 16. I pitched well, but I had to decide between going to London for the junior hockey season or baseball. I chose hockey."
Rochester has agreed to move its Thursday, November 4th contest against the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to Friday, November 5th. The move increases the number of games to two in Buffalo, with the final contest on Tuesday, December 28th against the Edmonton Road Runners. The game against the Mighty Ducks is a 7:35 p.m. start and the December contest begins at 7:05 p.m.
'The Sabres coaching and fitness staffs need something to do. The organization did not lay off employees. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff expects to occasionally be on the ice before or after the Amerks' normal practice for specialized drills, administrative assistant coach Jeff Holbrook is expected to provide video analysis of all games, and strength and conditioning coach Doug McKenney is already designing diets and workout programs.'
