Memories to market

'Gilbert Perreault and Rene Robert were among a host of former and current players who shot short segments for the planned 30-minute film that mines the glory years once again. Their hair is grayer, but squint a little and you could envision the electric atmosphere on many nights as the flashy youngsters streaked down the ice with Rick Martin as the famed French Connection. Listen closely, and you could hear the faint echo of "Thank you, Sabres."'

The Aud Re-Opens

'"We're just trying to introduce our fans to the season that's coming up. Also to remind them that there is a 34 year history of the franchise. You know we had a bad year last year but Mr. Golisano bought the team in the spring and we've had some positive things happen in the summer and we wanted to bridge that," Mike Gilbert, Vice President of Communications.'

Lighting the Aud

The documentary, which will complete shooting tomorrow, focuses on the glory years of the organization and features both current and legendary Sabres. Curtis Brown, Eric Boulton, Rene Robert and Gil Perreault all make appearances sharing their most memorable experiences about wearing the Sabres sweater.

Kristek turns down Sabres to play in Czech Republic

'''He felt at this point it was in his best long-term interest to play in his home country for a year,'' said Evans. ''I don't think it was a matter of happiness or unhappiness. It's just something that he wanted to do.'''

Drury is Signed to a Four Year Deal

'"We are proud to announce today that we have signed Chris (Drury) to a contract. He is going to be here, playing as a Buffalo Sabre and everyone is extremely enthusiastic and excited about it. Like many things that have been happening since last year, the team and its surrounding environment is looking more and more positive. Adding Chris Drury to the roster is just one of the many pluses that have been added to this team."'
